Yeah. The trouble is when frontier is the only option or the only option that’s viable for a majority of people.
Anyone can build an app theoretically so do the goal posts move somewhere new or do we finally now have distributed capability for societal digital transformation.
@a16z The 2010s Uber run-up will always be cooler and more impressive than Facebook 2000s to me.
The minimalist app, the metro gtm releases, local politics, scandals, it had it all. Should be studied more.
@KenWattana The funniest part about this tweet is the presumption it's just EDM Apple has a stake in.
Not, every song ever produced on a Mac.
But why stop there, imagine any dollar you make on a Mac, is taxed like the App store at 30%.
So I'm imagining it Ken. It's called hell.
@solopribuilds If this happens Micron and the anticipated Anthropic IPO will become the largest market cap companies in the world as consumer and enterprise compensate, but fortunately Meta have surplus compute lately.
Open source could fill the gap if hardware reqs evolve. We chill.
@MartinGTobias If you have any clients and use custom MCP connections for each customer's accounts, 1 Claude account is not set up for that.
This is after trying 2 Buffer MCPs on 1 account. Wonder if that's why.
I really like Claude design, but no matter the design system I put into place, it still looks like Claude designed it.
Has anyone found any good workarounds for this?
@ColinGardiner UGC and network effects get a bad name because people think first party B2C platforms, but vertical B2B is wide open with a lower activation bar imo.
Reid Hoffman started LI personally activating 100 users with nothing in common. 100 B2B users activated in a vertical? Bullish.
Person can be on 10 company boards at the same time and tell the C-suite at every board meeting they need to focus on 1 problem and everyone nods in agreement, thank you.
Double standards exist bc power and leverage exist.
Taking the bet gets access, not equal treatment.
@ColinGardiner Well fwiw I thought it was cool and proves you're not a typical VC voice with a narrow view of what is a worthwhile use of someone's time. You know, having a life and all.
@NateLorenzen If you’re not traditionally famous, you’re starting over from 0 if your account gets striked like everybody else. That’s like the worst insurance I could think of.
The word you’re looking for is leverage not insurance.
The most important person on a product team is whoever decides what doesn't get built.
Usually nobody has that job.
So everything ships eventually, the roadmap is a queue instead of a strategy, and the thing that would have mattered is sitting at position 40.
The next generation of startups will be built by smaller teams than ever before.
At Startup School 2026, YC's @garrytan explains why we're we're entering the era of personal AGI: AI agents that run on your own infrastructure, compound your knowledge over time, and dramatically increase your ability to build.
He shares the tools and workflows he uses every day, why every founder should own their intelligence instead of renting it, and what it means to build under your own power.

@jerols It's truly come into it's asshole software engineer personality. The ultimate stackoverflow commenter final boss. Soon it will tell me to Google things.
@embersunn True. Also, let's equate having a large social media following similar to how we treat NFL players with concussions and severe brain damage.
Mental health is wealth ya know.
