I keep coming back to that one observation from @friedberg–

👉 Silicon Valley is a place where failure is expected, and even celebrated, if you turn that experience into a learning exercise. What is *never* forgotten is how you treated your investors, your employees, and your customers during those low points.

Behaving with integrity, humility, and empathy during the rough patches is how you build a positive reputation–and there is no way quicker to build a negative reputation, than by taking advantage of folks who have less experience or who have misplaced trust.

Be kind, be balanced, look beyond the next sprint and realize that your life and your mission should be a marathon.
