@CryptoKraut98@alt_ccc And, obviously, the threat of a federal level RRG has been the thing forcing the CDU into coalitions with the SPD ever since 2005, so if the CDU leadership abandons the Centre for an ideologically consistent grouping, they will be signing their own political death warrant
@CryptoKraut98@alt_ccc I think a big fear among the CDU leadership is that if they even flirt with the idea of a “United Right” coalition, their left wings will flock en masse to the SPD and Greens, which will give enough support to those parties for a RGR (or, based on current polls, GRR) coalition
@AladinKumar1@notate_bene@alt_ccc the Greens don’t really make sense if you try to compare them to the US Green Party. They’re more like the Blue Dog wing of the Democrats nowadays, with a small faction of eco-socialists they drag around to show that they’re still a “genuine” environmental party
@CryptoKraut98@alt_ccc Now of course, we may have wildly different perspectives on whether this is a “good” thing or a “bad” thing, but the basic mechanics of the situation remain true nevertheless
@CryptoKraut98@alt_ccc I have also thought about this. If the CDU loses its entire right wing to the AfD, then anything short of an AfD majority will continue to result in a non-AfD government, since the CDU will have nobody capable of convincing it to go into government with the AfD
it feels in some way wrong that innocent piss fetishists are being used as a scapegoat here. i know they can't just say "fake piss for passing your drug test" on the box but leave the watersports people outta this
I'm sorry but "girls won't go on dates with me because I was ISIS" is the absolute funniest permutation of attempted male loneliness epidemic discourse
@Ichbins8 Modern opinion polls: “The Social Democratic Party of South Fuckistan has overtaken the Liberal Democratic Party of Fuckistani Unity by 1%. Is democracy over?”
Medieval opinion polls: “Five out of six knights want to flay the current Archchancellor. This is perfectly normal.”
