To my very small number of twitter friends... have an invite! I’ll be reading a TBD fiction or nonfiction piece. @EIUEnglish puts this reading together a couple times a year. So excited to be featured!
@queerhorizons No, not yet. They haven't made a decision. They usually follow U of I's lead on these things, so I expect them to make an announcement soon. I can also see how random days off would also just feel like a day to work on homework and not a real break. Blegh.
@queerhorizons I feel the same way... that break is so important for my mental health. Last year I used it to work a bit ahead, and that was the only way I stayed afloat and sane for the rest of the semester. I wonder if they could just give single days off or long weekends here and there...
This resonated with me so deeply. Highly recommend to anyone who has an ambitious relationship with spooky things but is also working on some chronic, crippling anxiety. You know, that whole niche.
I wrote about my experience with the horror/anxiety intersection for Nightmare magazine a couple years ago. TLDR; it's complicated. https://t.co/I38HgSd7fo
