We did $100k in revenue after realizing that our customers hate software.
Our first product was an AI accounting tool for CFOs. I did 35 sales calls and got $0.
So we switched to being a service.
The pitch became: "We're an outsourced accounting firm that's faster/cheaper with AI"
Then our calls started to convert.
As founders, we naturally obsess over features and tech because that’s what we do.
But REAL customers don't care. They only want their problem solved (bonus points if they don't have to use the tool) in a fast, simple way.
Just sell the outcome.
@eusouomatt Esse é um futuro inevitável. Construir de fim-a-fim. Reduzir handoff. Criar um produto e lançar a oferta. Resolver problemas reais que te incomodam todos os dias.
O Product Engineer, o Forward Deployed Engineer é o começo técnico de algo que se espalhará para todos.
@dremnik If @meetgranola allowed external recordings to be uaoded, i would've never canceled their sub. Well desgned API, well designed "where you pick up from" that no other vibe coding or @PLAUDAI can do today
@eusouomatt I'd say that large companies are seeing this already, but haven't institutionalized. I've seen job openings at Amazon for example where they are hiring Product Engineers, exc the name.
SQLite is the most underrated project for those who wants to "just stand something up and see how it goes".
There's an estimate of +T devices running it today. One file. No servers.
@tursodatabase is even rewriting it in Rust
Today I moved away from supabase for SubtitlesFast
supabase -> SQLite
I used supabase as an experiment last year. It was so easy to setup a db, few clicks barabim barabum and it's done
always thought that setting up db instance on server was a pain, passwords, permissions, friction in general
so supabase definitely reduced the friction
but holy shit, i never realised how much latency it added to my product
I moved to SQLite as per papa's @levelsio advice and my app is VISIBLY quicker on the frontend
RankGoat is already on SQLite and it's a breeze
also debugging with Claude is much easier now
note to self: keep it simple stupid
just remember to run regular backups to another server and you're golden
the next experiment is to try Cloudflare for email I think and shed the Postmark bill, anyone done this yet?
Yesterday, I had a conversation with @RafaAudibert and saw a Post-It certification from @PostHog on his profile.
I decided to take it today, and they couldn’t have been more right about it. lol

Long-running prompts are changing how managers lead their teams.
They kick one off at 5pm, log off. Stay present with wife and kids, check back at 8am.
Just ran my first one. 14 steps. 4 loops. I’d estimated it taking 3~4h. It closed out in 2h38m. Neat.
Vale mega a pena.
