@WhiskySmiles @WarlordDilley Tariffs cannot replace income taxes. Total payroll taxes in 2023 amounted to just over one trillion dollars. Imports of goods into the USA amounted to 3 trillion. Import duties at 20% would raise 600 million. Shortfall, 400 million.

It simply doesn't work.
