In June 1983, a 17-year-old girl ran barefoot down a road in Anchorage, Alaska. She was half-naked and still wearing handcuffs.
She had just escaped from a man who hunted women like animals.
Her name was Cindy Paulson. Hours earlier, she had been kidnapped by a man with a gun and chained up in his basement. Later, he drove her to an airfield. His plan was to fly her to his cabin in the wilderness.
While he loaded the plane, Cindy slipped out of the car and ran. She made it to the road and jumped into a passing truck just before he could catch her.
The man was Robert Hansen, a respected local baker, husband, and father of two. He was also an experienced hunter and pilot.
His friends gave him an alibi, and at first, police didn't take Cindy's story seriously.
But one investigator couldn't let it go. For years, women had been vanishing from Anchorage, and bodies kept turning up in shallow graves in the wilderness outside the city.
In October 1983, police searched Hansen's home. Hidden behind his bed, they found an aviation map covered in small "X" marks. Some of them matched the places where bodies had been found.
Hansen finally confessed. For 12 years, he had flown women into the Alaskan wilderness, set them free, and hunted them down with a rifle and a knife.
He admitted to killing 17 women and was sentenced to 461 years in prison, where he died in 2014.
Only 12 bodies were ever found. His map had 24 marks.

The reason that Michael Tracey wants to out the Jane Doe in the Cornell case is simply so they can dig into her life and expose every single flaw in her character — the more human she becomes in the narrative, the less of a “perfect victim” she is — and that’s better for the rapists.
The more a victim is known, the more people will blame her for this atrocity and what was done to her.

Thank you for not blurring his face and for blurring hers!! This is how it should be. Bring back public shame and accountability for men who violate women. Abusers don’t deserve anonymity.

According to her attorney, the victim in the Cornell rape case wanted to return home but the university refused to refund her tuition therefore she was stuck for an entire semester with her abusers who all got a slap on the wrist.
Unbelievable cruel.
Eat shit Cornell.
