NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC DISRUPTION IN NAIROBI

Due to the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), the National Police Service wishes to inform the public of temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Nairobi on Thursday, 7th August 2025, as follows:

ROAD CLOSURES

1.Aerodrome Road – From Madaraka Roundabout to Bunyala Roundabout.

TRAFFIC DIVERSION ROUTES

1.Motorists from Mombasa Road heading to Nairobi CBD should use Likoni Road - Enterprise Road (near General Motors) or the Southern Bypass (via Ole Sereni).

2.Motorists from Lang’ata Road heading to Nairobi CBD should use Raila Odinga Road or Muhoho Road (via Mbagathi Roundabout).

3.Motorists from Nairobi CBD heading to Thika Road (Ruiru/Juja/Thika) should use Limuru Road or Kiambu Road.

4.Matatus transporting passengers to Kasarani should use Ruaraka - Baba Ndogo Road - Ngomongo Road to Ngomongo Roundabout.

5.Motorists from Thika Road heading to Nairobi CBD should use the Eastern Bypass, Kiambu Road, or Limuru Road.

NB: Avoid Thika Road unless travelling to Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium.

The National Police Service is working collaboratively with relevant agencies to ensure the free flow of traffic. Additional police officers have been deployed and will take stern action against anyone violating traffic rules.
