What does the university of the future look like?
According to Mr Sanjeev Sanyal, member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, IIT Madras offers a glimpse.
Speaking on the ANI Podcast with Ms Smita Prakash, he described IIT Madras as “the most interesting intellectual cluster in India right now,” pointing to its vibrant ecosystem of research, deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
From brain-mapping and Agnikul’s space rockets to e-planes, drone taxis and indigenous marine-engine development, the Institute is creating an environment where ideas move from research to real-world applications.
Mr Sanyal also highlighted a key strength: learning beyond the classroom. With laboratories, prototyping facilities, research projects and startups on campus, students gain experience by building, testing and innovating.
He suggested that universities across India could draw from this model by placing greater emphasis on experiential learning, research, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

A terrible and tragic flash flood has taken place at Gyirong in Tibet - China, and one of our Kailash groups was caught in it. While on their way back, they were at the immigration office when the flood occurred and the building and much of the town seems to have been flooded.
All of us, including the volunteers and support teams are deeply anguished and are doing our utmost to assist in the rescue. There has been no official information on the whereabouts of any of the people who were at the immigration office. We are working with the authorities to see if we can get to the location and stand ready to be part of the rescue efforts, regardless of the risk involved.
Of the 21 groups who are part of our Sojourn, 495 people have already returned safely. 743 people are currently in Tibet, 148 people are in Nepal, and 77 people were at the immigration center, and 3 volunteers in Timure, Nepal.
To the families and loved ones of those in our group and hundreds of others who are affected in the region, I share your pain and we are sparing no effort during this profoundly difficult time. I am personally in the region to ensure the best can be done in the given circumstances 🙏🏽- Sg

@AUTOINTELIN The pre-facelift Slavia had the best-looking front end.
The facelift has messed up the design, especially with those bumper grilles, they make the front look overstyled and less elegant.
#WATCH | Reasi, J&K | Vande Bharat train runs at near 100 kms per hour speed for the first time on the world's highest Chenab Bridge
On the 111-kilometer-long new Broad Gauge rail section between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Banihal under Jammu Division of Northern Railway, approval was granted by the Railway Ministry to increase the maximum permissible speed of trains to 100 kmph.
Earlier, the permissible speed on this section was 85 kmph for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Sangaldan section and 75 kmph for the Sangaldan - Banihal section.
@adityaparakh@SomChaterji Yes, it doesn’t align with the design language of the car. Looks imposed. Draws too much attention and lowers the aesthetics of the car.
@SomChaterji The 3D geometric web-pattern lower grille looks out of place.
It doesn’t align with the design language of the car. Eye almost immediately goes toward those silver geometric pieces. Previously, that area behaved more like a background element. @SkodaIndia
@volklub Overall, facelift looks nice.
IMO, the new 3D geometric web-pattern lower grille feels a little too busy compared with the earlier honeycomb design. It interrupts the otherwise clean and elegant design language of the Slavia rather than complementing it.

Indian Automakers just topped the world in EV efficiency. Not Tesla. Not BYD. Tata and Mahindra.
Among the world's 22 largest automakers, Tata Motors and Mahindra posted the lowest energy consumption per km in 2025, beating Tesla and BYD on efficiency.
Indian engineering, built for Indian roads, is now setting the global benchmark.
