A 13-year-old Canadian kid uploaded R&B covers to YouTube in 2008 from his bedroom. A talent manager named Scooter Braun stumbled on the videos and signed him.
For the next 15 years, Braun controlled everything. Tours, branding, business deals, public image. The kid became the biggest pop star on the planet, sold 150 million records, racked up 32 billion Spotify streams, and had three Diamond-certified singles before turning 25.
Then in 2022, he got hit with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Partial facial paralysis. Cancelled the world tour. Disappeared from public life entirely.
Here's where it gets interesting.
In January 2023, he sold his entire 290-song catalog to Hipgnosis for $200 million. Every song he'd ever released. "Baby." "Sorry." "Love Yourself." All of it. Gone. At 28 years old, he cashed out his past.
Then he dropped Scooter Braun. After 15 years. No manager. No agent. For the first time in his career, nobody was making decisions for him.
Fast forward to this weekend. Coachella calls. He picks up the phone himself. Rolling Stone confirmed he negotiated his own headlining deal directly with Goldenvoice. No agent commission. No manager cut. $10 million for two weekends, and he kept all of it.
Then he walked onto the biggest stage in music, sat down behind a MacBook, and pulled up YouTube.
He played "Baby" from 2010. He played his bedroom covers from 2008. He harmonized with his 13-year-old self in front of 100,000 people. Katy Perry joked about whether he had YouTube Premium.
Half the internet called it lazy. The other half called it genius.
They're both wrong. It was a receipt.
He sold his catalog for $200 million. He fired the man who discovered him. He negotiated his own deal. And then he went back to the exact platform where it all started and said: I built this from a laptop. I'm headlining Coachella from a laptop. And for the first time in my life, every dollar is mine.
The kid from YouTube just closed the loop.
🇲🇾 Malaysian society agreement:
If you want to sell your car, you can place an oil container on the roof and write your number and price on it.
Visitors to Malaysia are often confused by the large containers placed on car roofs.
Funny how things work when everyone agrees on a specific convention.
NO one really prepares you for this chapter of life. The empty nest.
Many of us have spent our hard-earned salaries and savings to send our kids for overseas tertiary education.
We spend our hard-earned money and years raising children to be capable, global, independent. We pray for and celebrate the scholarships, the overseas graduations, the first jobs in London, Melbourne, Singapore, Auckland, New York.
And then quietly, in the middle of an ordinary day of a normal week, you come to the realisation that they are building a life there, miles away from you. A long plane ride from you. You know they love you; they call, they visit when they can ... but they may not come home, ever.

If Southeast Asian countries were honest about their visa policies 👇
🇹🇭 Thailand: "Come for 60 days, leave, come back. We'll pretend we don't notice you've been here 8 months"
🇻🇳 Vietnam: "Pay our agent $500 and stop asking questions"
🇵🇭 Philippines: "59 days free, after that just extend forever, we don't care"
🇲🇾 Malaysia: "You can stay 90 days but we'll randomly deny you at the border for fun"
🇮🇩 Indonesia: "Bali is a different country with different rules, nobody knows what they are"
🇰🇭 Cambodia: "Everything is $50 and a smile"
🇸🇬 Singapore: "Follow every rule or we'll ban you for life (OR WORSE)"
I spent 2 years border hopping in SE Asia. The system is chaos and everyone prefers it that way

🚨🗣️ Sadio Mané on his 'rivalry' with Mohamed Salah when they were teammates at Liverpool:
"I’m usually a quiet person, but I get along with everyone in the team, that’s just who I am. And Mo is also a very nice guy, honestly."
“On the pitch, you know how it is. Sometimes he passes, sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes he should pass, sometimes he shoots. And of course, Bobby was there too — we shared the ball a lot between us three.”
“But I still remember one game... Burnley. When I was really angry. He didn’t pass to me in a situation where he absolutely should have. I was furious after the game."
"The next day, Mo came to me because he wanted to talk, but he didn’t know how to start. He thought I was still angry. He came and said, ‘Can we talk?’ I said, ‘No problem.’"
"Then he told me: ‘You think I didn’t want to pass to you. But I swear, I didn’t even see you. When I got the ball, I just wanted to shoot. I have nothing against you. If I saw you, I would have passed'"
"I told him: 'Mo, don’t worry. It’s over. I was angry because with your quality, you could have passed the ball more. That’s all.'.. Since that day, I think we became even closer."
“Sometimes these things happen between strikers. And with Mo, when he sees the goal… He sees nothing else. Nobody! He only sees the goal. But I never take it personally, he just wants to score.”
“And I always told him: ‘Mo, I know you want to be top scorer. I can help you. I don’t mind — I’ll pass to you. If you can be top scorer, no problem. I’ll help you.’... Because he was always closer to the top scorer award than me."
"He took penalties, and I usually dropped deeper to defend. We needed that balance: Mo staying higher, Bobby linking play, and me dropping back to defend."
Financial red flags that don't seem like red flags but actually are
- Making purchases above $10,000 "for the baby"
- Anyone who uses the word "cashflow"
- Anything involving home renovations for any reason whatsoever
Charlie Kirk introducing his fiancée Erika on the show for the first time is the best clip on the internet right now.
THIS is what I want every liberal monster and legacy media LIAR who defamed Charlie to see.
THIS is worth fighting for!!! 👇
