Medical students across the state have been raising the issue of high course fee and dismally low stipend, which they say, is making medical education inaccessible to students of low-income families.
The protesting students said Punjab now holds the dubious distinction of charging the highest MBBS and MDS course fees among neighbouring states while offering the lowest stipends to interns and resident doctors.

A video has surfaced showing Dr. P.N. Mahato, #Principal of Medini Rai Medical College and Hospital (MRMCH) in Palamu, #Jharkhand, allegedly threatening students, including female doctors, for raising voices!
How are such people getting such positions?

Appreciating the words of @gupta_rekha mam for her concern towards the wellbeing of medicos. We kindly request @gupta_rekha mam to look into the issue of the Delhi Medical Council’s dissolution and facilitate the provision of stipends for foreign medical graduates in Delhi, who are tirelessly working in hospitals without any financial support. @AHindinews
Today, foreign medical graduates (FMGs) in Uttar Pradesh are once again protesting due to the non-availability of internship seats. Over 500 FMGs have been waiting for the past six months after clearing the FMGE, yet the authorities have failed to provide internship for all.
Authorities have now assured that a second round of counselling will be conducted next month once seats become available. We sincerely hope this promise does not end in yet another delay.

Why Bihar? ❗❗❗❗
Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) in Bihar face unfair scoring in government vacancies. In #2021, both Indian and FMG final year percentages were multiplied by 0.8.
Since #2022 to 2024, FMGs get 0.6 multiplier, while Indian graduates no matter government or private stay at 0.8.
Now In #2025, for medical officer roles, it’s 1.0 for Indian grads but still 0.6 for FMGs—creating a #huge gap.
Even after clearing exams, FMGs are sidelined.
This discrimination & inconsistency must end. Equal scoring for all medical graduates is the only way forward. @mangalpandeybjp@samrat4bjp@NitishKumar@BiharHealthDept #FairRecruitment @News18Bihar@ZeeBiharNews@HindustanTimes
I'm deeply concerned that so many Indian #MBBS students at #Bashkir State Medical University in Russia are being cheated and expelled after paying hefty fees, hostel expenses, and so many other charges.
Their dreams of wearing a white coat are slipping away, families are left in despair, and students feel alone and betrayed.
Its nothing less than autocracy

I request to @NMC_BHARAT@NMC_IND & Indian Embassy in Russia to please allow conditional transfer to affected students and please black list this university for next academic sessions for 5 years !
Its very shameful that in presence of Indian Embassy Offical a foreign university dean ( Bashkir State Medical University Russia) is threatening our Indian students to expel them from university as they complaint about the unjust and unfair corrupt practices of university.
I urge @DrSJaishankar to take an appropriate action and ban these type of university from admitting Indian students and find out the root cause of this mass expulsion.

Once the FMG students have passed the tough screening exam, the delay and uncertainity in internship affects their morale as well as jeopardises their NEETPG prep. Fixed dates and calendars for internship allotment for each exam passing candidates nationwide should be made, so that this every year problem of uncertainity is not there. Transparency in the system is the need of the hour along with swift resolution of current issues #FMGinternshipCrisis
This video is from Bashkir State Medical University, Ufa, Russia.
The individuals present are university officials and representatives from the Indian Embassy.
The college dean, authorities are reportedly deliberately expelling Indian students, especially those in their 2nd and 3rd years, knowing that as per @NMC_BHARAT guidelines they cannot transfer to other universities.
FMGs have appealed to the Indian Embassy for intervention, yet the university authorities continue with the same stance even in their presence.
Hundreds of FMGs are deeply concerned.
I urge @NMC_BHARAT to allow transfers for affected FMGs to prevent such injustices, and to issue a formal notice to universities engaging in such practices.

How many years do you think it takes to complete MBBS? 5.5 years, right?
But for the students who went to Ukraine for their MBBS, it’s taking 10 years, and none of it is their fault.
Here’s their timeline: 6 years in Ukraine (including war delays), 6 months gap preparing for FMG exam, 3–4 months waiting for internship allotment, and now, 3 full years of internship.
Really feeling sad for these students.
