I had no idea, there were chiefs who refused to sign the 1900 Buganda Agreement – & thus forfeited their land share.
Explaining "Parliament is the Bribe" @NativeLandgrab tells the brave stories of men and women who refused the good life of power – or being close to power – for a larger cause.

If you say you hate the Iranian government, nobody accuses you of hating the Iranian people. But if you hate the Israeli government, somehow you’re accused of hating all Jews worldwide. How does that work? 🤔

🗣️Tucker Carlson:
“I had an experience that I know may offend some people, but it was real. I was recently on a flight in the Middle East when I saw a 70-year-old Muslim man praying on his prayer mat while everyone else was asleep.
I thought to myself: a man who takes time in the middle of a flight to acknowledge that he is not God and to bow before his Creator… I don’t think that man is my enemy on a deeper level.”

By the way, Kabuleta raises a very valid point about Sex Tourism (or whatever you want to call it). We are still lagging behind because we are a pretentious lot.
You can’t claim to have the best night life in East Africa when you have no single legitimate strip club or legally recognized red light district in the whole city. Women offering those services are often in running battles with police because apparently it’s illegal.
What are we even doing?
Tourists come here and need those services. Why don’t we find a way to package those services in an organised manner? We are just here pretending to be a morally upright society when behind the scenes we are fully plugged into the most chaotic sex network in Africa.
Legalize that sector, formalize it, organize it, and let’s make some money while at it! Tourism is more than lakes, rivers & organisms, it’s also about shakes, shivers & orgasms. 👉🏽👌🏽

He seeks knowledge and unlike you he is less material. He has my respect. You people are as worthless as the contents in graves.
Are Uganda's messy overhead fiber cables really an engineering problem-or an economic one?
In this thought-provoking opinion, @dabirungi, Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability at @Airtel_Ug, argues that the real challenge lies not in technology but in policy, infrastructure sharing, and the economics of consumer choice.

We are at Kira Magistrate’s court for @TimKalyegira’s bail application hearing. The State Prosecutor is opposing bail, arguing that Tim’s large social media following could intimidate witnesses. She also notes the lack of a land title to prove a fixed place of abode, and claims his younger brother, Keith (55), is "too young" to guarantee the return of Tim (58) to court.
The magistrate has stood over the ruling for 30 minutes.
This is the right time to sue the government of Uganda for illegally arresting and detaining us for protesting against corruption in Parliament.
We deserve an apology or even compensation for the trauma, torture, days we spent on remand, transport and time we used while attending those court sessions which were later dismissed because of lack of prosecution.
