You’re completely misreading Amir’s tweet. The “depraved evil cult of filth” line is clearly directed at Sana in that exchange, not a theological statement about Islam. You’ve built an entire argument about diaspora Iranians calling Islam “un-Iranian” on a basic misreading of who he’s referring to.

And Amir, a leftist activist sympathetic to Gaza, anti-Pahlavi, and opposed to U.S. or Israeli strikes on Iran, is hardly the authority on “everything Iran and Iranians stand for.” 🙄

• An absurd, and frankly racist, U.S.-centric lens that denies agency to everyone else. If you have to go back 73 years and stretch events beyond recognition, so be it.

• Pure wishcasting: delusional and cartoonishly naïve, yet emotionally satisfying and utopian (“Staaaahp the violence. Will everyone just be nice pretty please 🥺“).

• Dismissing the ONLY possible solution for failing a moral purity test, while offering no serious alternative.
