Die Kernelemente der Elterngeld-Reform stehen:

> Väter müssen mindestens 3 Monate nehmen

> Pro Elternteil sind maximal 9 Monate Bezugsdauer möglich

> das klassische Modell "Mutter 1 Jahr in Elternzeit" wird auf 9 Monate gekürzt

Meine Meinung:

Die Steigung des Höchstbetrags ist überfällig und ein richtiger Schritt. Alles andere geht maximal gegen die Lebensrealität junger Familien.

Mütter werden faktisch gezwungen nach 9 Monaten wieder arbeiten zu gehen. Einen Kitaplatz gibt es in den meisten Bundesländern jedoch erst ab 2 Jahren.

Für mich persönlich ist ein Baby mit 9 Monaten auch noch lange nicht bereit für Ganztagesbetreuung.

Mütter werden gezwungen unbezahlt Zuhause zu bleiben. Faktisch ist es eine Kürzung der Familieneinkommen.

Das alles in einem Land, in dem Kinderkriegen für Nicht-Arbeitende weiterhin maximal attraktiv ist. Alle anderen werden bestraft.

Die Geburtenrate wird weiter zurückgehen. Was für ein Wahnsinn.

Él y sus socios (Podemos, Bildu y partidos nacionalistas...) que tanto protestan en @lavuelta, llevan gobernando durante años y vendiendo armas a Israel.

Man, Europe is a mess.

The leaders don’t get it. They just don’t get it.

If they would just talk to companies, like I do. REALLY talk to companies. Sit down for a long time and just listen to what they tell you.

So many companies suffering declining productivity. And much of it is self-inflicted.

At a high level, in order to grow you need the combo of more people + investments in efficiency.

Regarding the first factor, it’s already too late. Europeans don’t make babies (Eastern Europe better, Western Europe bad, overall not so good).

Now add to that the avalanche of upcoming retirees.

This not only means you need to replace the work done by people with less people, but your current workforce is becoming increasingly important.

So employees are getting increasingly pampered. They have more choices. They demand more. In short, they get more for doing less. That’s not good for overall productivity.

Add to this that these employees are increasingly the current Insta and TikTok generation. Not good.

So you see this problem (which many still don’t) and compensate by investing in efficiency, right?

Nope.

Well – they think – perhaps the solution is MORE regulation.

I talk to European companies. Many will tell you this is happening and the trend is accelerating.

I apologize for the venting. It’s just incredible to see so many nations doing so much self-harm.

Don’t get me wrong. Europe is a great place to live and raise your family.

It’s just quickly becoming a museum.
