Great to be able to enter my local @afscmemn5 on my exhibitor badge at @educationminnesota #mea! @mnhsunion#iamunion#union @ Saint Paul, Minnesota https://t.co/yJuyHcH3FQ
@HistoryEdMNHS Having student write about previous education experiences can help teachers learn about what baggage they carry with them and what their relationship with school is like. #culturallyrelevantpedagogy
@HistoryEdMNHS Ooh! Ask students to talk about how school is the same or different now and then ask them to write about their own school experiences. At the IUM conference last summer, Jehanne Beaton suggested having kids write an education autobiography.
Check out this article, "Teaching Kindness Isn’t Enough" from @learnforjustice for some thoughtful ideas on how to teach justice to students. https://t.co/xJzJhs66Mf
@Mrs_Sweet_IB Simulations are a wonderful way to teach US Gov! Bill to Law simulations or Mock Trials are great. Mock Elections are also very fun. And don't underestimate the power of School House Rock 😅
overheard a teenaged girl ask her dad to explain what started World War II. he tried to play it cool but I could see it in his eyes, this was the moment he'd been waiting for for fifteen years
@maia_leclair @ButchSplendide But one must admit that the art direction did not flinch from the utter horror that is 1830s women's fashion. I'll take a commitment to accuracy over actual aesthetic any day 😅

#OnThisDay in 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled school segregation unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education.
It wasn't until September 1957 that 9 teens would become symbols of all that was in store for our nation in the years to come. More: https://t.co/eGZ1ldXn8j
@kj_charles SAME. There's nothing like a parade of lactation consultants saying "I'm not sure why it's not working" to really make you feel like the shittiest mom ever (PS why is there not a feminine form of emasculated?)
