@pjonesbaseball What if there was an app that sent players a postgame report immediately after the game that provided data on their AB and asked those questions? Oh wait! There is!
Yes we have 10 💣s in 3 games. Yes we went back-to-back-to-back today. But there’s something really sweet about a backside line drive with 2 strikes. Love the way our hitters have bought into our approach.
.@lakeeriebase and No.11 UNCP split today's doubleheader in Cary, NC, but Lake Erie with a big upset win to start their 2025 campaign.
Congrats to Mike Eversole on his first win as the Head Coach.
Alex Caudill threw 5 shutout with 7 strikeouts.
Brandon Metivier gave up one hit and K'd 3 in his 2.1 IP
Israel Espinosa drove in both of the Storm's runs.
Rubber match tomorrow at noon ET.

Hitters need to know why they’re making outs. The game is a different task than the training environment.
Priorities:
Approach
Timing
Swing
They’re all tied together and they all matter…
If you’re a Trackman or Yakker school (or you’re not), and you want customizable postgame feedback for your hitters and pitchers in their inbox by the end of your postgame meeting, shoot us a DM. We’d love to help you out!
Hitter misses under the slider and adjusts too much and misses over. Re-adjusts and hits 💣. Awareness of vertical barrel accuracy is crucial for success. The choke-up definitely helped too.
NAIA Career HR record holder took responsibility for his approach by diving into his data… simple question he asked himself: “what pitches can I do damage with?”

I worked with a hitter today...
He changed his plan mid-AB
Because the umpire called strike 1 on a pitch nowhere near the plate.
Here's what I told him:
Most successful hitters go up to the plate with a plan. They generally don’t try to cover the entire zone. With less than 2 strikes,if you can control the middle 10” of the plate you are ahead of the game. Eliminate the outer & inner 3 1/2 inches. You CAN move that 10” in or out
🚨 Derek Jeter - Hitting Approach
• Looking for a Fastball - down the middle
• Trying to hit everything to right-center
• This approach gives you more time to react & adjust
⭐️ By letting the ball travel farther, he was able to do more damage on off-speed pitches and keep them fair more often.
The day before the NCAA Regional begins, Millersville baseball's Alex Mykut, Carson Kulina and Mark McNelly have been named NCBWA All-Atlantic Region.

I really wish that every committed baseball player across the country would band together and commit to playing Legion ball after they commit. Personally I think it would be so much better for everyone involved. The level of Legion ball would climb so committed guys would still be playing against other good players. A ton of families out there would save thousands. And then on the travel circuit, it would literally be all uncommitted players playing against one another, which would make college recruiters' jobs much easier.
How you swing impacts how you hunt pitches.
Where are you letting the ball get to?
How do you approach different shapes?
How do you want to see the ball out of the pitcher's hand?
How are you using the angles the pitcher is providing?
“His #PitchRecognition is impressive,” Hoerner said. “A lot of those at-bats that he’s homered in, there’s been a take that’s usually an out for anyone else. I feel like he can match up with any pitcher. His strike zone awareness is really impressive.” https://t.co/WhaGslMr6z
