A remarkable moment in the evolution of robotics.

At the #WorldHumanoidRobotGames in #Beijing, a humanoid robot developed by the Beijing Innovation Centre of Humanoid Robotics reportedly completed the 100m in 9.39 seconds - faster than Jamaican runner Bolt’s human world record of 9.58 seconds, set in 2009.

The competition goes far beyond speed, featuring boxing, football and even practical household tasks such as folding laundry.

This is more than a race against a record. It is a glimpse of how #artificialintelligence, #robotics and #engineering are converging to create machines that can move, learn and perform in increasingly human-like ways.
