@RaulNino17@astros I just got the details regarding the private Astros Caravan event at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi. In all likelihood, this means a public event will be held just before this at Whataburger on the Bay on Shoreline BLVD.
@RaulNino17@astros I usually attend the private Corpus Christi event at Whataburger Field. Last year, it took place on 01/17 and details about the event weren't released until 01/12. I would guess you'll see full details from the Astros very soon.
@AaronGleeman@greggtmasterson@MVPrielipp Appreciate the direct response, AG. Many were saying who it isn't, but none who it is. I still don't know why a marketing team would do things counterproductive to marketing the team. If it's nothing more than $, OK fine. Not a bit. I wanted an answer and I'm glad you provided it
@greggtmasterson@AaronGleeman@MVPrielipp If that's who it is, I'd redirect my frustration. But why would a marketing team feel it in their best interests to dwindle away beloved off-season fan outreach programs? That sounds counterproductive. Maybe you can explain what I'm missing.
@AaronGleeman@greggtmasterson@MVPrielipp That would certainly quell this discussion. As you are infamous for saying, if information is not provided, people will use their imaginations to fill in the blanks. With no direct information provided, I'm using available indirect information. If not Baldelli, who is/was it?
@MVPrielipp@AaronGleeman@greggtmasterson There was a Twins Caravan in 2020. It was shortly after it's conclusion that the world came to a screeching halt. In 2021, the caravan was canceled altogether. I don't know how Corona-19 would have anything to do with 2022 and beyond.
@tlschwerz 5 public events in 2025, 8 in 2026. Yes, still a shell of its old self, but for a team facing a PR nightmare with its fan base, this is a step in the right direction.
@AaronGleeman@greggtmasterson@MVPrielipp If I am so wrong about my theory, can't someone more "in-the-know" reveal what person/people are indeed responsible for the gradual eroding of the caravan beginning around 2020? DSP spent years gloating Twins Caravan was the biggest off-season fan program in sports. What changed?
@AaronGleeman@greggtmasterson@MVPrielipp Never suggested Baldelli was organizing the event. I surmised he was given input on its scope & size. Twins offseason fan events evaporated under Baldelli. Is it far-fetched to think he didn't have influence; especially when they revert closer their old self the moment he's gone?
@greggtmasterson@MVPrielipp It's been alluded to on Gleeman and the Geek, it's been reported in the Star Tribune, and people on this platform who I trust have suggested it. Also, immediately after his firing, the caravan reverts back closer to its former self. Yes, I'm willing to connect those dots.
