This chair was made out of wood from trees in forests. Trees offer an economic resource for humans, but cutting or burning too many can harm ecosystems if there is not enough shelter. #apeseco@franklinlorax
#apeseco@franklinlorax while being on this planet we have some limiting resources which are crucial to survival. One of those things is food such as my beloved gushers

When living on planet earth humans and many organisms have limited the recourses we need in order to survive. While the population increases the higher the carrying capacity must grow. One recourse that we need to survive is food such as my tasty-Onions
@SP516326apes@franklinlorax This is so cool to be able to grow primary producers in our own homes. And if we start growing edible plants(like tomatoes) we could eat them and gain 10% of their energy
@NR512550apes@franklinlorax This was an observation I had too. And another characteristic of our biome is precipitation all year long and in the winter it’s through snowfall
A fresh snowfall is one of the characteristics of the temperate forest biome which is the biome the WI resides in. In climate graphs we see that precipitation happens all year round and in winter that happens through snow. @franklinlorax#apesecology
Because I live close to the school I choose to walk instead of drive almost everyday. One reason my eco footprint is so high is due to my vehicle use and this a great way to lower that. @franklinlorax#apespopulation
@EthanPiperAPES@franklinlorax Carpooling is a great way to reduce your ecological footprint. I know my eco footprint is pretty high especially due to my vehicle use, I’ll have to start carpooling more.
@RK510980apes@SBFranklinAPES This is an easy and efficient way to help with your eco footprint. All classes require folders and over the course of highschool buying new folders wastes a lot of resources so reusing helps with this!
By making sure to reuse the same formula sheets for my classes I save paper by not having to reprint for every new unit. Saving paper and therefore cutting my carbon footprint. While small, every bit counts! #apespop@franklinlorax
I carpool with my friends as much as possible. In order to reduce my ecological footprint. In result, leading to reduction in C02 and further air pollution #apespop@franklinlorax
My family uses well water for all of the outside watering. This is more sustainable because the aquifers that are tapped into the well systems are sources of water that are naturally replenished. #apeswater@franklinlorax
Every Sunday I wash my laundry in full loads only. By doing so I am conserving water through this change that I have made in my personal habits! @franklinlorax#apeswater
By utilizing a metal water bottle such as this one right here, I am able to reduce my plastic consumption and thus decrease how much waste I create for landfills and other waste disposal practices. I can reduce how much plastic gets into our oceans! #apeswater@franklinlorax
@NR512550apes@franklinlorax I also notice these storm drains throughout my neighborhood but I’ve never really thought about all the runoff that ends up in our water sources. I like the idea of trying to clear the area around the drains.
Storm drains like this allow for the runoff from impermeable surfaces to be properly managed. But they can get filled with leaves reducing their efficiency, That's why I always try to clear the drains when I notice they get covered in debris. #apeswater
