BREAKING: Iran has fired a missile at a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, hitting and damaging the vessel, defying the US ultimatum, US officials say.

Details include:

1. The attack comes just hours after President Trump demanded that Iran publicly guarantee safe passage through Hormuz

2. "The Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice and until the end of the American interventions in this area," the IRGC said

3. The vessel struck by the IRGC was transiting the southern route that Oman had proposed reopening without restrictions

In a sudden turn of events, the Strait of Hormuz is now closed again.
