Spiral Galaxy NGC 4900 and a Milky Way Star

The Hubble Space Telescope captured this image of NGC 4900. It is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo, 45 million light-years from Earth. The image also shows a bright Milky Way star, located just 7,109 light-years away.

Although the star appears large, this is just an optical effect - in reality, NGC 4900 extends for tens of thousands of light-years, and its spiral arms are dotted with young blue stars and star-forming regions.
