Our problem is that we are addicted to fossil fuels. And we learn the wrong lessons. We focus on short-term opportunism rather than long-term sustainability. Hard to tell developing countries to move to clean energy when rich countries like Canada won't do the same.
What are the chances that #Budget2022 would be the same day as #WorldHealthDay2022, which is the day that 38 🇨🇦health orgs issued an open letter to @CanadianPM calling for a shift to wellbeing economy metrics?
I choose to see this as an excellent omen 🤓

We can all see #ClimateChange is not a distant threat; it’s already here. @nature_org gives us 5 ways public & private sector leaders must take action in 2021 #ForNature: https://t.co/P3x3wGEIsa
Apparently we all just experienced the hottest October ever recorded on this planet. And against that backdrop of fire and flood, our ruling class set out to sabotage the Paris climate accords
President Trump’s announcement that the US will walk away from the Paris Agreement is disappointing. However, no one country can stop the global momentum to a cleaner future. Canada looks forward to working with the rest of the world under the Paris Agreement including at #COP25.
What’s truly of value in life? what gives our lives meaning? We weren't born to cause trouble or harm. To be of value, we must develop basic good human qualities---warmth, kindness, compassion. Then our life will become happier and more meaningful.
Climate Change:
It's real.
It's us.
It's serious - and becoming dangerous.
But there are solutions, and there is hope.
The science is clear: the faster we reduce our emissions, the less impacts there will be.

The science is absolutely clear, which makes it so baffling that today's Conservative politicians want to do less, not more. Climate change is a real and urgent threat. We're a great country and we can figure this out, but the only way to do that is to come together.
