Happy to share the results of our international research project on Ku+ myositis: new insights👀 in characteristics & pathophysiology of the rare IIM subtype! Thanks to all cooperation partners, patients participating, @rheumadocs & DGMe.V. for the support

Anti-Ku + myositis: an acquired inflammatory protein-aggregate myopathy. 92% female, median age 56yrs w/ very hi CK levels, 31% have overlap w/ scleroderma (half of these have ILD). Path shows by myofiber necrosis, MHC-class I/II+, endomysial inflammation https://t.co/7HDUEPmbdi
New evidence, that autoantibodies in #myositis might play a central role in pathophysiology! Milestone work by the team of and around @DrIagoPinal, Sandra, Maria and Andy.👏
Amazing #GCOM24! Great talks with latest research, inspiring encounters with old and new friends, new collaborations and ideas and overall an amazing time with the #myositis family!
Thank you for having us at your lab Andy, @DrIagoPinal, @MariaCasalD, Sandra and Katherine @NIH! We enjoyed the inspiring and joyful discussions on #myositis and are looking forward to continue our collaborations! See you at #GCOM2024!
Great work by my colleague @nikolasruffer and our Hamburg-Berlin Muscle group:
Approaching new therapeutic options with #musclebiopsies in refractory #myositis.
• 1 to 24 applications of daratumumab
• AEs: application-associated (in i.v. application), hypogammaglobulinemia, infections
-> CD38 inhibition seems a promising therapeutic option in many refractory AIDs
-> RCTs warranted
Happy to share our systematic review on daratumumab usage in 24 different autoimmune diseases published in @ARD_BMJ

What an amazing weekend! I am very happy I could participate in this #ENMC workshop together with all these great interdisciplinary experts and a patients' representative to discuss dedicatedly on #antisynthetase syndrome!
What a passionate group to discuss Antisynthetase Syndrome (#ASyS) in the 273rd #EMNC Workshop! New connections & collaborations has started during this interesting workshop weekend!
Fascinating publication on unique microRNA in different IIM-subtypes, complementing the known unique subtypes of histopathology and transcriptomics in Cells' special issue on NMDs.
Curious how future research will elucidate aspects in myositis-overlap-syndromes.

Identification of Unique microRNA Profiles in Different Types of Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathy. Cells 2023.
Muscle biopsies from DM, AS, and IBM patients have unique miRNA signatures. These miRNAs may be key to understand myositis pathogenesis.
