@Captain7bag Yep, but maybe we need to let people ask these questions so maybe they learn the value of someone that understands data. There are ways that AI can aid you, like building tools or helping you understand concepts. Directly understanding your data? Very hit and miss at best.
@Captain7bag I do find it helps improve accuracy when searching particular topics. You tend to get better reads of the research. I think there’s a free trial so possibly worth the test.
@Scienceofsport A really simple fix for this, especially when margins are so tight. To prove underweight bike, multiple (more than 2) done by different people and ideally different scales. The scales must also be calibrated against a known weight in front of all parties.
@Captain7bag Keeping it on task is the key. That often requires you to have a decent understanding of how AI works and the topic. Python is something I need to learn. Sure AI can build code for me but I need to understand enough about it to know if the code it’s developed works.
@Captain7bag Yeah i honestly never use the mobile up for anything truly meaningful like that. I do all that work in cowork on my computer. Tends to handle stuff better on there but largely because it now has better memory files and skills attached. It’s still not perfect though.
@Captain7bag@DrPhilipSkiba@palmares Here’s a fun one for you, few weeks back I asked it to do research deep dives on both of you. It failed to pick up the FPCA paper.
3/Coaches don’t often open up about these struggles but I feel it needs to be talked about. After all I owe it to my Neurodivergent conditions to why I’m so knowledgeable about sport. Its my ASD interest and ADHD leads me down specific rabbit holes within the broader topic.
1/ I have been quiet on her for some time now. The last year or so have been an extremely difficult period for me. In August last year I was diagnosed with ASD level 2, ADHD combined presentation with highly affected executive function, OCD, depression, anxiety and dysgraphia.
2/While the diagnosis at 37 explained a lot it about my life it opened up so many more questions. In September I suffered burnout episode as a result. This burnout is still something I’m working back from and suffering from today.
@zbitter@MountainRoche@JWLevitt@ProfTimNoakes Zac, I think this is possibly one of the most powerful responses to Tim and a like I’ve seen, not only because it’s incredibly factual, its also coming from someone with the experience of yourself
@hjluks@debs_terrior Yep I have this issue and when I was 9 was advised to avoid surgery until an absolute last resort. Now I do have some issues today from time to time but that has been able to be addressed with strength work. The worst thing about that gait I find? Thigh chafing at the knees
@Sportnutrient@MaurtenOfficial A great read Paul, thanks once again for some great insights. It highlights how beneficial it can be to applying scientific knowledge and more importantly scientific process to help find individualized solutions for an athlete.
@Sportnutrient@kilianj I was just thinking is it time we start using terms like high carb fueling less and work more around the term/concept “appropriate carb fueling”?
@Sportnutrient@kilianj Great post and thank you for the insights. Always informative when this kind of insight is provided. It still amazes me how many people forget the nuance needed with this kind of thing and just go for blanket assumptions instead of individualizing things the best they can.
@inside_exercise it’s something I’ve thought about a lot especially when looking at current Aussie times. Some of today’s coaches probably make him slower. The other stuff’s easily worth a couple of min. Honestly I think Andy is the only male in the ballpark of where Clayton, Deeks and Mona are.
@andrewwoodroffe@IRONMANtri@247_endurance You would hope so. If I was a professional athlete and someone beat me using illegal equipment I’m protesting straight away.
@Timboreed@jayprasuhn From memory as well, that particular brand has very limited to potentially no options for larger chain rings in a 2x set up as well, forcing athletes into the 1x group even more
