The incredible thing about this hack was that in the space of one day, it showed you everything Bitcoin Twitter is, all at once.

The best of it and the worst of it, side by side, with no filter.

You saw people who had lost everything still logging on to warn strangers and try to save someone else from the same fate.

That’s the thing that made a lot of us fall in love with this thing in the first place.

Strangers protecting strangers with no upside for themselves.

And you saw the other side too.

The gloating from those who looked at a catastrophe and saw an engagement opportunity.

The tribal point-scoring while plebs were quietly having the worst night of their lives.

So take the lesson beyond dice rolls.

Verify your tools, yes. But also, watch who showed up these past couple of days and who showed their arse.

Remember which accounts reached for a stranger’s hand and which offered nothing but vitriol, because that's data too.

Keep the first kind close, and never forget the face of the second, because you just saw exactly who they are with the mask off.
