Yes, The Sameer Project is opening its first bakery in Gaza City this week to provide bags of bread for FREE to hundreds of families, help here: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX We are still in the testing phase at the moment and hoping to launch the bakery properly next week.

Access to bread is a major issue across the Strip as it is sold for $1 a bag by the World Central Kitchen but even that amount is not affordable for many families. The World Central Kitchen has access to ingredients whereas we would have to purchase them for the full price, which means the production of one bag will cost more but we will not charge anything for it, and distribute it for free.

A generous donation from the Babochki Collective (@BabochkiOrg_ ) that has allowed us to expand and open a bakery that’s hiring ten people full time, and will hopefully provide bread for at least 200 families everyday. A big thank you to the contributors ✨

On Palestinian Land Day, we honored and celebrated this beautiful bond between indigenous people and the land that supports them.

The Sameer Project, in collaboration with the Gaza Municipality, planted olive trees in Gaza City - symbols of resilience, Palestinian identity, and belonging. Each tree a promise: we are still here. We will always be here.

The team also painted walls, vibrant colors, joyous murals, the images of steadfastness and pride. Today,
On Land Day we remind the world that this land is not just dirt and rock, geography and location - it is home, history, and heart. It is PALESTINE.

For all Palestinians, even those in the diaspora that have not been allowed on their own land, this will always be home. It is something we carry with us, until from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

This Palestinian Land Day, let’s listen to the heartbeat of the land as it pulses through the trees we planted together. We refuse to surrender our land — in life and in resistance.

Our first carrot harvest since the onset of the genocide has yielded 1,600 kg of fresh produce, grown together with five farming families from Deir al-Balah who were displaced after their lands in the east were destroyed.

On March 16, The Sameer Project held an initiative inside Ard Al-Saraya Camp to bring Eid excitement to young girls ages 1-8 years old. A total of 203 dresses were distributed to 203 girls, each one carefully chosen with love to make their Eid celebration the best possible.

The total cost of this initiative was $3,874 after 11% commission, for the dresses and gift wrapping to make the event feel even more like a celebration.

Every kid in Gaza deserves to feel the way these children did, help us provide more joy for them through the weekend by donating to our Ramadan and Eid Campaign before we close it.

The joy of children on the first day of Eid al-Fitr is evident as they danced and played, feeling the celebratory atmosphere for the first time in 3 years. Despite the backdrop of being internally displaced, living in a camp, still facing scarcity, for at least this moment there is happiness and hope.

And The Sameer Project is thankful to be a part of these special moments, this renewal of energy, strengthening of community, as the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end.

The ability to cook their own familiar recipes, honor traditions, prepare a little more or a little less based on what the family needs, make their own decisions.

We want to return this dignity and autonomy back to families this Ramadan. The Sameer Project’s goal is to provide 2,500 parcels to families all over Gaza. The contents will vary slightly based on availability, but for approximately $37 you can help supply a family with pantry staples to cook their own Suhoors and Iftars, just like they would before the genocide.

The Sameer Project is now distributing packages in preparation for Ramadan, help https://t.co/fe689mYmjr The package consists of coffee pot, a set of espresso coffee cups, 12 spoons, a kilo of plates, 6 tea cups, water container, large plastic bowl with cover & small plastic bowl.

One of our first distributions was in Diwan Camp, Rimal, Gaza City. The 100 packages cost $4,367 with 11% commission.

The joy on the women’s faces is beautiful. Every Muslim woman knows the feeling of preparing for Ramadan and buying new kitchen utensils. So we send you a big THANK YOU for making this possible!

Malnourished pregnant mothers don’t receive the proper prenatal care, help: https://t.co/1j2S3RoAgU They are giving birth to premature and underweight babies. They then cannot produce enough breast milk due to their continued lack of proper nutrients, and infant formula continues to be unaffordable because of the lack of products in the markets.

All this affects Gaza’s infants before even their first words are spoken. Parents are still struggling to provide milk formula, still struggling to provide diapers, and unable to give their newborn babies the comfort and relief that they deserve.

On February 2, The Sameer Project team distributed 80 milk cans and 80 packages of diaper to the Balakia Camp in the west coastal area of North Gaza. After an 11% banking commission, the cost of the distribution for Gaza’s youngest was $1,302.
