Screwed by @Verizon. Returned from AT&T, now: phones are unregistered from any network, account is unavailable. Any recovery or support requires phone and/or account login. Dead in the water for two days. "Just login to get support with logging in." Gee, ok.
@cjstephanoAITC @McCormickProf@gtconway3d Begin by not equating conservatism with being pro-Trump or QAnon.
Continue by recognizing that identifying anti-intellectualism is not, in itself, intellectual. There is plenty of boneheaded illogic on all sides. If you only call out the other side's and not your own, well...
@WestrnDemocracy @McCormickProf I am a progressive who does not know many conservatives, but this is incorrect. You can find conservatives who talk about "bathing the nation in blood" (or some facsimile)—and progressives talking about the same (eg "let the antivaxxers die.") That does not prove your point.
@Paul_Bone @johnallsopp My kids' school had a whole series of shops in the forest that bought and sold from each other, raided each other, etc.
...including one shop staffed with 2nd graders that sold compulsory "dates" with 1st graders.
I did not learn about this until a few years later.
@johnregehr A colleague here at Mozilla has suggested the statistical reverse, in a way: create a baseline histogram of expected crashes by running many instances of the browser. Trigger a single bit-flip in each one. Gather up any resulting crash dumps and bucket (by stack).
@Gankra_ Wow. I thought I was good when I landed a patch in Firefox that segfaulted gdb's demangler if you looked at the wrong symbol. (It was templates, again.)
@djco@nnethercote It's a little dated. Most notably: it claims the current JIT engine is Jaegermonkey. More substantively, Firefox doesn't expose X11 anymore.
But it's not wrong.
@shaver @johnregehr It's still disabled, at least for SpiderMonkey. I recall that we've looked at removing the flag a couple of times, but the performance gain was minimal and didn't seem worth the potential security bugs. We've been cleaning up our aliasing and other UB, though.
@vvuk It would probably be perfectly understandable if Siri hadn't chopped off the very end.
I'm guessing "movie" or "breakfast cereal".
Or "porn". *Anything* suffixed with "porn" makes sense, though you might not want it to.
@TatumCreative Then there was the lonely spider who loved having flies come over to visit. He threw great parties. Long intimate conversations.
But sometimes he got hungry.
He was upset when he realized he was running low on friends.
The resolution involved a large cockroach frozen in ice.
@TatumCreative I did a lot of this. One had a dragon that got turned into an intensely cute furry cuddly thing that enveloped them in a friendly way but with no intention of ever letting them leave.
They cut their way out.
Lots of blood.
They're still mad at me for that.
