11 year-old girl, Layan al-Shaer, has now died from the wounds Israeli occupation forces inflicted on her just days ago in Gaza.
The 17th child killed by Israel in Gaza over 3 days.
Note the Israel’s PR ops is dealing w/ child deaths in Gaza, the same way they did with Shireen Abu Aqla, Muhammad al Durra, the Nakba, & most everything else: 1st they lie (it didn’t happen), then they obfuscate (the Palestinians probably did it).
Children Killed during Israel’s onslaught on Gaza in the last 24 hours:
-Alaa Qaddoum, 5yo
-Ahmad Alnairab, 11yo
-Momen Alnairab, 5yo
-Mohammed Hassouna, 14yo,
- Khalil Abu Hamads, 17yo.
-Hazem Salem, 12yo.
When you are told Israel has a right to defend itself remember that every act of violence used to sustain a system of occupation, apartheid and colonialism is by definition illegitimate. It is Palestinians who have a right to resist and defend.
Israel banned the entry of fuel. This caused Gaza’s power plant to grind to a halt. Lack of electricity in Gaza is affecting water delivery, sewage treatment, & hospitals etc. People aren’t able to store fruits/veggies/meat coz fridges cant function on 2 or 3 hrs of electricity.
After al-Hams was injured by Israeli fire, the commander of the firing force, Captain R (as the courts and media would refer to him), shot her again at close range.
Later, he was accused by several of his subordinates of doing so to ensure she was dead.

Similarly, 17 years ago, the Israeli soldier who killed Iman al-Hams at close range was acquitted by a court-martial.
The court described al-Hams as “apparently aged about 14” - and thus as a supposedly legitimate military target.

In theory, the Israeli rules of engagement forbid firing at children under the age of 14.
Iman al-Hams was 13 years old at the time of her killing.
But the Israeli supreme court judgment conveniently describes her as “approximately 14 years old.”

18 years ago, 13-year-old Palestinian Iman al-Hams was shot several times and killed by Israeli fire. Her parents sued the Israeli military for damages.
This week, the Israeli supreme court dismissed their claim.
