@rustybrick of course they are. "SEOs" that buy links are the same lazy, shortcut-taking, spam infesting amateurs this industry has been plagued with since day one.
There is no perfect SEO strategy for Google or AI search engines.
If you're just starting, do the following:
1️⃣ Make your website insanely crawlable, indexable, and easy to understand.
- Use HTML, care about loading speed, build a strong site architecture (via internal links), and mark up your pages with schema.
This is all stuff within your control, so there's really no excuse not to do it.
2️⃣ Identify 100 unique topics that are closely related to your product or service
3️⃣ Create 100 unique assets that cover the topics in full (use @getrankability for maximum relevance).
Does the topic have different intent?
It probably deserves a dedicated page. When in doubt, look at the SERPs.
4️⃣ Find the top 100 websites in your niche and try to get backlinks on those websites
This isn't easy, but it works. And your competitors won't do it because they're still trying to formulate a genius SEO strategy.
Action creates intelligent strategy.
Stop trying to predict the future.
Act > learn > iterate > get better results
Google announces they will only send people to 3rd party websites when they want to buy something, and only if they click a Google ad
* Not really, but that's the practical effect
Hey @google, why bother to show results in your “news”, or in organic rankings at all, for websites like @globeandmail when the result is nothing but a paywall?
If you're not changing anything about how you do SEO following the Google Leak... You're not paying attention.
