@firanka20@Phoenixstarr85 the characters are misogynistic! the show beats you over the head with it! the whole dance happens bc the characters and the world are misogynistic! what are you guys smoking when you watch the show like the writers literally hold our hands and yall still don’t get it 😭
This will anger so many ppl but I don’t care about GRRM’s opinion on the show…not because I don’t think his opinion matters but as he himself said, “this is not his story anymore.” I’m not going to judge the show as an adaptation of the book but as a show with its own narrative.
@DaReal_MoKush@ifyalldontstfu@R0ZASAC3 cousin and cousin yes, but i can’t think of any uncle/aunt or niece/nephew. the only other incest we see is craster and his daughters and every other character is disgusted by it. it’s shunned by the seven gods & cersei gets punished by the militant faith for brother/sister
olenna was betrothed to egg’s gay son, her granddaughter married a gay man, who was also her gay grandson’s lover, she was alive at the same time as the gay baratheon brothers and lyonel at some point. also her granddaughter is a lesbian. she knew every homosexual in the land
@DaReal_MoKush@ifyalldontstfu@R0ZASAC3 to the targs themselves there may be an arbitrary distinction in incest between parent and child and other incestuous relations but to the rest of the asoiaf world, and to our own real one, incest is incest and one incestuous relationship isn’t better or less weird than the other
@femmenyra idk i feel they wouldn’t have bothered with the scenes of the numerous tragedies she’s endured and how her past shaped who she’s become if the writers intend for you to forget all that and jump on board with it just being bc she’s crazy or w/e. i don’t think that’s the intention
@femmenyra genuine question, why do you feel the addition of the “mad queen” aspect means the rest of the things that have happened to her disappears? like you could argue you don’t just like the adding of that but it doesn’t cancel out the many other reasons she has for everything she does
@DaReal_MoKush@ifyalldontstfu@R0ZASAC3 what? i disagree with OP on the original post. you replied with question marks to someone else who was also disagreeing with OP and i replied because i was confused about why you were replying with question marks to the other person who also disagreed with OP. wdym lol
i’ve never seen this bit but i have recently watched the civil war documentary and that fuckass old “southern gentleman” antebellum plantation white guy was the worst part. useless in all ways except he was exceptional at being annoying as fuck
@R0ZASAC3 there is no way you can say incest between aunt/uncle or siblings is somehow morally superior than parent/child. all are incest, all lead to blurred lines between familial and romantic/sexual feelings. there is no literally no logical “line” to cross when incest is incest
@danyzstarlight like ofc aemond would be a weird little freak to his mother and sister and brother bc they’re all weird freaks who have a hundred year family history of fucked up relationships and upbringings. it’s what happens when incest is normalized in any capacity
@danyzstarlight which is why aemond’s incestous feelings towards his mother is even more compelling bc yes the parent/child incest didn’t happen for the targs (any form of incest is not better than the other anyway) but the blurring of what is acceptable in familial relationships is the point
@belladonnafeli@_Lady_Ann__ and i love that writing decision! the rest dany’s mad queen arc in got was shit was bc the writing for the rest of the show was not leading up to her becoming the mad queen. it didn’t make sense for dany. the plan for rhaenyra to go “mad” was laid out all the way back in season 1
