@gtconway3d Trump is a deadbeat, no doubt, but it is a bit more complicated than stiffing PA taxpayers. Penn State is a state-related university. This means that the Commonwealth appropriates money to Penn State so the University can give a tuition break to in-state students. 1/2

@pickover All that is known is that either the sum or product of pi and Euler's constant is transcendental, thus irrational. Suppose that both pi+e and pie are algebraic. Then (x-pi)(x-e) has algebraic coefficients. Hence its roots pi and e are algebraic. This is a contradiction.
