$MU now has higher gross margins than $META with 85% at the memory fab versus 80% at the ad platform.
Meta is paying for the AI buildout while supply is committed for years giving Micron the power to set the price.

I don’t trust this bounce in semis.
I feel it’s one big retail trap.
I’m not shorting. I hope I’m wrong.
But this feels like an exit liquidity play
$AMD $MU $INTC $SOXX
I told you to keep buying memory stocks at my levels. Memory has a chance for a low forever, however; we are NOT out of the woods just yet.
Here's exactly what I expect moving forward:
1. Memory ETF $DRAM
2. SanDisk $SNDK
3. Micron $MU

$SKHY up 25% on the KOSPI.
Not a BLUE candle yet, but closing in.
Anything below Fib 0 was a bargain. This bounce put it right back into the Fibonacci channels. Constructive! LFG.

Sure, big bounce today but...
$AMD takes 35 years to buy its entire market cap. Nobody blinks.
Memory takes 4 to 5 years. Everybody calls it a value trap.
Is the market really going to allow that?
Despite $MU being up ~17% so far today, it's still $1,000 below where I believe it should be based on its actual revenues, profits, growth and potential. Obviously, that's just my opinion.
No need to worry if hyperscaler capex growth slows in 2026–27.
A large part of the projected increase is not from buying dramatically more compute. It is because memory prices are extremely high right now.
According to UBS, once memory prices normalize, late 2027 for NAND and mid-2028 for DRAM, hyperscalers can buy the same amount of memory for less money.
That naturally reduces the dollar amount of their capital spending without cutting actual compute capacity.
The underlying demand for more compute remains strong.
UBS notes that the compute supply/demand dynamic has actually tightened further in recent quarters.
Most of the 2026–27 capex jump simply reflects elevated memory costs rather than a surge in shipped compute.
UBS research on SK Hynix reinforces the point. Memory undersupply is expected to continue into 2028.
Agentic AI is driving extra demand beyond HBM, including DDR5 and LPDDR5 for conventional servers and AI head nodes, plus NAND for KV cache and storage.
DRAM bit demand is forecast to accelerate to 36% year-over-year in 2027 (from 22% in 2026), with NAND at 23% (from 20%).
Incremental DRAM wafer capacity is mostly going to HBM, and little new NAND capacity outside China is being added, so supply is not catching up.
The main risk is affordability as industry revenues approach roughly $1.8 trillion in 2027.
A potential slowdown in the dollar value of hyperscaler capex later this decade would largely reflect cheaper memory, not weaker AI infrastructure demand.
The need for more compute is still very real.
WE ARE SO BACK! This sounds VERY GOOD for memory chip companies.
Samsung Electronics (h/t @jukan05 ): "Based on the demand visibility we currently have from customers, a substantial amount of unmet demand will roll over into next year, creating additional supply pressure. We expect the memory shortage in 2027 to be even MORE SEVERE than it is this year, with tight supply conditions likely to persist into 2028."
US SENATORS WARN APPLE AGAINST CHINESE MEMORY CHIP DEALS
Lawmakers led by Jim Banks and Chuck Schumer urged $AAPL to abandon talks with CXMT and YMTC, even for devices sold only in China.
Both chipmakers are on a Pentagon list of Chinese military companies; YMTC is also on the Commerce Department’s Entity List. Senators warned that Apple qualification could enable wider use later.
They asked Apple to commit by Aug. 21 not to use the chips and disclose any technical information shared. The talks come amid a global memory shortage.
