@vrizov Since partnering with Ticketmaster, TIFF prices have been ridiculous and it's gone wholly against their founding principles of being "the people's festival." It's prohibitively expensive for most people.
Ticketmaster is a scourge and using it as an official ticketing platform for a film festival is incredibly bizarre. It's genuinely insane that people are allowed to buy and re-sell TIFF tickets pretty much the day they go on sale. The new Miyazaki is going for over $300 US
Anderson .Paak is a legit #TIFF24 triple threat as director, writer, and star of K-POPS! Plus, his feature debut also stars his real-life son, Soul Rasheed. https://t.co/WNwrkTiinY
@PlayStationCA@PlayStation is anyone suing PlayStation for defective dualsense controllers? $100 for electronics that do not last 13 months? 1 year warranty. Broken and no support to help fix the issue on the website past warranty by a month.
@PlayStationCA you need to fix your drifting issues on the dualsense PlayStation controllers. Your website does not make it easy to fix out of warranty controllers or get help for it. $100 controllers broken in less than 13 months.
22% of Canadian homebuilders cancel projects amid high rates despite severe housing shortage. I predicted this a year ago and now we have the data.
This is going to get worse before it gets better - it would be great to see a crisis level response to this from our Federal gov't, because that is what we need.
Financing is a major challenge. Major. The gov't needs to step up and use all of the mechanisms in its power, through CMHC, to respond to this moment.
Slow approvals processes were a problem in the past - today the issue is financing as a result of high interest rates. These projects being cancelled already have planning/zoning approvals. Think about that for a second - this is a major shift in just two years.
Crisis level response required from all levels of government.

We need to use land better in existing neighborhoods in our cities - places where the parks, schools, and transit are already located. Here, a six storey residence in Seattle (HT @RE_MarketWatch).
Would you be happy or sad if this housing showed up on the lot next door? No judgement, just explain your take.
@fordnation@JustinTrudeau
salaries and wages do not match rental increase either. You need rent control & livable wages. Housing is out of control. #onpoli
Yes; and a government/culture that normalizes this and reinforces it is to blame for our lack of housing that working people, young people, and newcomers can afford.
Treating housing like an asset class, instead of a home, is one of the reasons it functions in our economy like an asset class - and not very well as homes, for many. Two sides of the same coin.
Just do y’all know Toronto rental prices are a direct result of ford who runs the provincial side of things in Ontario. When he was elected he got rid of rent control and as a result the 2.5 percent cap that was in place before is no longer there.
Watch: We asked Toronto residents to guess the monthly rent of these apartments https://t.co/tRrB4thw6P via @torontostar
It's now high time to have a Rent Control Law that will cover all types of rented residential units.
