A senior Nigerian police officer — a Chief Superintendent of Police was among at least 10 people killed between Monday and Tuesday yesterday as suspected Fulani terrorists continued a wave of violence in communities 30 to 50 miles south of Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Several others were injured as shootings were reported in multiple villages up to midnight, despite advance warnings of escalating attacks.

The latest killings bring the death toll from related incidents in Plateau State to more than 40 in the past 10 days, including a pastor killed in an ambush on his way to church on Sunday.

Tribal leaders are questioning the enforcement of the recently imposed curfew by security agencies, amid escalating terror threats.
