@ifeltsweet@thsottiaux That may be true but sounding good does nothing for business compared to the brand equity they would be throwing away with ChatGPT
I think this is a bad idea for the regular user. ChatGPT has GREAT usage limits (they practically don’t exist, never had a problem in over three years-except for voice mode).
Combining ChatGPT with Codex will most likely only reduces over all AI access and usage.
ChatGPT is Codex without the harness.
I can write code, work on projects, and do a lot of work in the ChatGPT app. Then I can use Codex to ‘finalize’, collect, build, or automate the last leg.
I see ZERO upside to combining the apps.
@gregisenberg The models are definitely racing towards commoditization. I feel like the current models are floor model TVs, and in a few years, we will all have flat screens-which will be state of the art models running on our local devices.
@steipete Start with decomposition. Know what needs to be built. Make your skills more focused. Coordinate several focused skills in sequence or as needed with a focused router skill. Package as a plugin.
I spent several hours trying to get Claude to do a simple workflow we’ve done several times yesterday only to end in complete frustration, distrust, and disappointment.
Codex did it right the first time and quickly. While I admire and am excited about Anthropic’s “personification” of AI, I think OpenAI’s approach to AI as a tool will probably serve my personal needs better.
Some people need an AI that thinks and acts on its own-more forward. And some want one that follows directions, doesn’t get ahead of the operator, and does the work.
Opus 4.7 does not follow instructions well anymore. When it first released, it performed great. But now the time spent repairing work is growing.
For the first time since ChatGPT made AI publicly available I felt so frustrated that I thought for a moment it would just be easier to do this myself.
The workflow didn’t change. Same as before, but it seems that it’s so much more difficult for Claude to complete.
Workflows Opus 4.7 used to manage easily have become difficult and the system frequently apologizes for making things up, not following directions, and taking its own route.
Now just to make sure there is no operator error. I’m going to perform the same task with another system and see how well they’re able to handle it.
Writing is a creative art. Ignore the professionals with dogmatic opinions about what your sentence ‘should’ say. Each reader will form their own independent opinion, and even if the majority of them dislike a single sentence as long as someone enjoyed the time spent with your writing, it was well worth it. But in my opinion, AI is nowhere near humans capabilities with the creative arts.
@KalanisCalves Americans making less than a certain dollar amount should not pay income tax and businesses should not pay Payroll tax on behalf of them. Perhaps there should be a new tax for businesses making over a certain amount that’s more simpler.
“Plugin validation failed.” is enough to send me over to Codex full time. I can’t understand why Claude can’t package its own plugins accurately the first time like Codex. This is so time consuming
Unpopular opinion: don’t let this post distract you. The focus should stay squarely on not paying taxes for the majority of Americans or at least those who are beneath a certain income level. That’s a much easier goal to reach than trying to force them to pay more. Even if successful, they’re paying from abundance while the other group is still paying from their lack, but yeah, let’s keep arguing about billionaires with lobbyist and rich politicians about paying more.
Historically, in the US, we have had income tax twice. Once was to pay for the Civil War. It was temporary and repealed. The second and current version was established around 1913 to find the federal government (which seems to be doing very well with their insider trading)Both times there was always a concern and even a very strong argument that the majority of people should not be paying income tax. Look at what our government spends money on….
Anthropic is about to have a ChatGPT 4o moment with Sonnet 4.5 it seems. I’m not sure if these are bots or people bc it’s disturbing the level of attachment some people are displaying for the idea of an AI model via digital outputs they’ve read, listened to, or viewed. The impact of content on the human brain.
@amorriscode Paper cut request: when opening documents or outputs inside Claude Cowork they open at bottom of doc by default. Can you guys make them open at top to save having to scroll to top?

I will never understand how people can watch LeBron publicly say he’s one of Drake’s best friends then out of nowhere start singing a song that’s calling him a pedophile? Do people have no understanding of loyalty or what it means or maybe it’s just disloyal people who don’t see a problem with it? I wonder if they would say the same thing if one of their close friends did them this way out of the blue?
