Some skills will come easily to you. There are other skills that will be difficult to learn. You will struggle, and that’s a good thing. The struggle will make you better. Not just better at the skill, but it will make you better at getting better.
Culture matters! Your culture is either moving your team forward or it’s holding your team back
It motivates or it frustrates
It creates energy or it diminishes energy
It’s a strength or it’s a weakness
Your culture makes you more competitive or it makes you less competitive.
@Michellelorene1 A21 The first thing I think of are patterns and my favorite GoNoodle video- Banana, Banana, Meatball by Blazer Fresh. Check it out!!! https://t.co/ZP38tYwRLL #OSUElemMath
@YeseniaCortes01 A19: At my placement we use ClassDojo to communicate with parents. Through this platform my CT has posted mathematical strategies we use in the classroom. The district also holds a back-to-school evening where we talk about how we use these strategies in the classroom.
@AshleyLanghals@DelaneyMathews1@AdobeSpark Yeah- sometimes students don't always complete the task. But, small group and centers provided a unique opportunity to watch a peer solve a math problem. It's another way to model and scaffold for the student. It's so powerful when your students become the teacher!
@TeachWithMissA@AshleyLanghals@AdobeSpark Every time I model a math game with my CT she wins (btw- the game is based on luck! LOL ). I think my kids are starting to feel sorry for me. They are starting to root for the underdog. Hahaha!!
@RobGMacfarlane Remembering when I was in first grade and learning all about this tree. It was wonderfully planted on the property of our local library which we visited all the time.
@mathhombre A3: Turn and talks work well for me. But, I literally asked my class today when they got squirrely, "How long HAVE you been sitting on this rug (during our math lesson.. oops!)?" I realized I needed to mix it up!
@mathhombre A1: I am currently studying for my M.Ed at OSU. This week I learned to tell students, "I believe you" when they share their stories with us.
