Don't underestimate the size of projects. Overlooking 5k skus with 10x datapoints each wasn't even thought of beforehand.

Mistakes (& learnings) from hiring a bad development agency which ended up wasting tim and money.

1. Not doing proper due dilligence and fell for the charming sales talk.
Fix: visit their office. Talk to their devs. Talk to their past clients. Ask for references

3. Flesh out the UX and user journey 100% before the build starts. The UX was only half fleshed out, when it started, and they said that was because it depended on the plugins they used. This was a mistake, because it caused so many changes down the track.

Everyone wants a custom-built site, only to underestimate the effort it takes to get one up and running. Every. Single. Thing - needs to be accounted for. Are dot points styled? Are the buttons too boxy? Is it mobile friendly? I miss working on themes.
