@coachvelasco11@A_Jude if no castillo trade a playoff ‘pen of
1. Muñoz
2. Brash
3. Ferrer
4. Speier
5. Bazardo
6. Hancock
7. Castillo
8. Anderson
9. Sloan
would be nasty. the ceilings of Sloan is a #1 & Anderson is a high #2. their stuff is big league ready, unproven won’t matter for 1-2 innings
@Gravel_sense@BenRanieri10 thank you for a mariners take that actually has logic and sense behind it lol. i am not a fan of watching ref hit this year but his ceiling which was shown last year far outweighs what anyone else in AAA can do is worth seeing if they can find it again. it’s still frustrating tho
@AngryMariners did you know that not every lefty pitcher throws the exact same so comparing a situation where a lefty is challenging raley with fastballs vs a lefty challenging him with spin is idk maybe quite different lol
@ProspectInsider anything noticeable he’s done to improve from his past couple seasons? remember being excited for him but seemed to not find contact & power even in the dsl. hoping he just needed some time?
@TridentTrue lol “almost every year”. factually incorrect and based on recent history just straight fiction. but i get it, this is y’all’s playbook. if you don’t stick to it, people might think you’re actually optimistic about your team
@coachvelasco11@DKramer_ yes but this one is interesting. 3 plus pitches. erratic command. it’s kinda like a matt brash lite profile. if they can find something with rucker, moore coming up at some point. hopefully can find one more arm on the market
@IISwitchII yeup. on the fast track to seattle. definitely gonna skip aaa. recently got to aa so hope he’s ready sooner than later. good sign he’s still dominating. i’m also keeping a sliver of hope McGraw stays healthy and shows plus stuff again
it could be argued though that young being elite at second outweighs just average defense at every IF spot tho but i think that’s what 3B colt SS cole 2B jp gives. plus to average at 3B & 2B and average at SS vs plus to average at 3B, below average at SS, & elite at 2B.
hoping this is just minor for colt. if young looks serviceable or even better than jp at SS i would be in favor of jp going to 2B instead of 3B with colt staying at 3B
Colt Emerson has been scratched from the Mariners' lineup, one hour before first pitch here in Baltimore.
The Mariners are now down two shortstops, after J.P. Crawford was placed on the IL a few hours ago.
So, Cole Young will make his first career start at the premium position.
@luke_arkins it’s just sad to watch the tantrums and fits that these “bigger” fan accounts throw. it does help me to weed out which accounts are giving sensible opinions & worth the follow. i appreciate how you’re always level headed
@SleeperMariners • Kade should NOT touch the pen until he’s close to his innings limit. same with sloan for that matter. target sept if you wanna see them in the pen
• castillo is hopefully traded if he continues to pitch like this
• 9th inning should go to Brash, Ferrer, Speier, OR Bazardo
@RefuseToLosePod i forgot bazardo. him and speier would be 3/4 depending on handedness. essentially your pivot guys. brock moore is on his way and i hope he keeps mowing hitters down now in AA. he’s gonna be a high leverage beast. i’m holding out hope for mcgraw to stay healthy, show out that arm
@RefuseToLosePod 4) “closer by committee” = leverage roles. first highest leverage situation should go to brash. second highest to ferrer. third to speier. allow munoz to work back with medium to low leverage situations but also making sure he gets some type of regular work. pitch every 2-3 days
