This is such a remarkable victory for the power of collective action. Not a single bill passed through the Oval Office, not a single ballot was cast to eventually put Flock out of business.
The sheer power of public opinion caused city halls across the country to cancel contracts in order to keep their elected seats. That is how representative democracy works
Let's be honest about what "entry-level requiring 5 years of experience" actually means: companies want senior-level expertise at junior-level pay. They're not confused about the contradiction, they're banking on your desperation. It's a wage suppression tactic disguised as a job requirement. They know someone will take it because rent is due and student loans don't pause for job searches. This isn't about finding qualified candidates. It's about finding exploitable ones. The job market isn't competitive, it's predatory. Stop calling it a skills gap when it's actually a dignity gap.
The real purpose of wealth is to have the calm to live your life your way. It's to have the freedom to slow down. To spend your days doing things that you actually care about. That’s what money is really for. Not to impress strangers. Or to collect expensive distractions. But to own your time. To have a quiet breakfast without checking emails. Long dinners without looking at the clock. Conversations without feeling rushed. A calm weekend without thinking about the spreadsheet you need to turn in on Tuesday. Time to read. To think. To explore your interests. That’s real wealth. Everything else is noise.
Yoga actually will embarrass the fuck out of you and remind you where you are unhealed, undisciplined and STILL holding on to things. NOT wanting to stretch at all is a GREAT indicator of you not wanting to face yourself. Stop running.
This video needs to be engraved in your mind because it’s a fucking diamond. If you want to understand the Law of Assumption & thought transmission, nothing I’ve seen explains it with this level of clarity. Watch it once, and you’ll never look at your thoughts the same way again.
You need to stop and read this again…
Warren Buffet’s final words of advice from his very last annual letter 🥹
"One perhaps self-serving observation. I’m happy to say I feel better about the second half of my life than the first. My advice: Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes – learn at least a little from them and move on. It is never too late to improve. Get the right heroes and copy them. You can start with Tom Murphy; he was the best.
Remember Alfred Nobel, later of Nobel Prize fame, who – reportedly – read his own obituary that was mistakenly printed when his brother died and a newspaper got mixed up. He was horrified at what he read and realized he should change his behavior.
Don’t count on a newsroom mix-up: Decide what you would like your obituary to say and live the life to deserve it.
Greatness does not come about through accumulating great amounts of money, great amounts of publicity or great power in government. When you help someone in any of thousands of ways, you help the world. Kindness is costless but also priceless. Whether you are religious or not, it’s hard to beat The Golden Rule as a guide to behavior.
I write this as one who has been thoughtless countless times and made many mistakes but also became very lucky in learning from some wonderful friends how to behave better (still a long way from perfect, however). Keep in mind that the cleaning lady is as much a human being as the Chairman."
And then today, his last letter to shareholders as chairman…
Big short dude is correct. The Ai apocalypse is actually for the Ai datacenter business (nobody else) where their big bets are going to blow up, because local models are nearly as good, free, and getting better. Tech bros F’d up badly … now they use fear. Not nice.
Dopaminemaxxing is absolutely key to get rid of fear based living.
If you often procrastinate (putting off tasks because the effort required is seen by your brain as a painful threat rather than a rewarding challenge), withdraw yourself from social situations, compulsively use coping mechanisms, perfectionise your life out of fear not ambition, and have decision paralysis, then you may benefit from targeted dopamine work.
Because when dopamine is depleted the amygdala, the threat detection centre, becomes dominant relative to the prefrontal cortex, and the balance between the two tips towards threat detection, and you end up living defensively, with a whole host of issues that make life 100x harder than it should be, especially because poor dopamine tone makes you more susceptible to chronic stress.
But once you have healthy dopamine, you'll realise that there was a version of you that requires nothing you do not already have - no better circumstances, no this, no that - just the biology that makes uncertainty make you feel alive and not scared, makes you do things because you actually WANT to not because you have to, makes conflict feel like healthy competition and makes you act absolutely true to yourself, not a version of you which you think other people want to see you as.
And seeing as dopamine is closely tied to testosterone, inhibits prolactin, supports thyroid, working on dopamine means you're increasing all other hormones as well.
The overwhelmingly defining factor on whether people are conservative or liberal is empathy. Conservatives only change their vote when their politics has directly and obviously hurt themselves personally.
Getting older teaches you to refrain from giving advice to 99% of people; most of them will just get defensive and feel like you are being condescendant and should just mind your own business anyway; some of them will actually fully agree with you but won't take any step forward (which will result in time wasted for everybody); and a few of them will nod and smile, but actually start to secretly hate you; and as you look back in retrospect ten or twenty years later, it becomes obvious that the few people with agency who did listen to your advice would have figured things out on their own anyway.
It's stunning when you realize exactly how many things trump f*cked up in less than 2 years.
HILARIOUS when a song nails it perfectly.
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!🔥🔥🔥
By the time you turn 30 your friend group should include:
- a rich international friend with questionable business holdings
- a lawyer with questionable morals
- a finance bro with terrible morals
- an unemployed friend who always has money to drink
- a guy who always knows a guy
One thing I’m learning as a sex therapist in training is that your BDSM personality will expose your real relationship needs.
Being a brat, a sub, a rope bunny, prey, a switch, a masochist it’s not “just kinky.” It’s your attachment style with the lights dimmed.
Brats want someone who can match them.
Subs need consistent leadership, not control.
Rope bunnies crave safety and structure.
Prey needs clear pursuit.
Switches need flexibility.
Masochists want intensity and presence. 1/2
stop trying to kill your demons. give them a job.
* take the anger to the gym
* turn obsession into building something
* clean when your mind feels chaotic
* make art out of heartbreak
* let regret make you kinder
* use jealousy to figure out what you actually want
* turn resentment into boundaries
* let anxiety push you to prepare, not panic
* use your need for control to build better routines
* pour loneliness into learning how to enjoy your own company
I'm 36 but yes, this is next level atp. Never in my adult career (2014 onward) have I ever seen a job market this abysmal. This is next level bad and it feels like everyone's understating it.
