Screens are definitely not good, and you shouldn't be judged negatively for that.
I think there’s sometimes feels like a bit of parent one upmanship around this stuff sometimes. Which could bring about feels of guilt or insecurities which may come out in different ways.
I guess we are all trying to do our best, but every kid is different, and circumstances are too (screen time unavoidable for us living abroad and wanting to keep communication with family for example).
our toddler is 2.5 years old, we are the *only* family we know that does 0 screen time
the science is so clear + put a screen in front of a toddler for 2s to see what it does w your own eyes
@thinking_slow "I think there will always be value (and reward) for extremely high-quality content"
but probably anyone who makes money from their content purely from traffic (ads) is gonna have a hard time.
@lr_jordan I can get away with it if she's playing with stuff and is already distracted (which is most times tbf). But other times if one of us isn't there and we need to go and do our business, she'll get distressed and starts getting upset.
Depends how quick your poop is gonna be too.
A modern example of Cobra Effect (how poorly set incentives backfire)
Amazon set targets for developers to use AI tools more
They created a leader-board to encourage AI adoption
Some staff used bots to run fake tasks just to hit the target
Not great as Amazon charged each time a task undertaken

@pepeller@levelsio@Alexintosh My gf works as a therapist in Spain (neither of us are from here).
She had one client say “I couldn’t find a Spanish therapist who was able to work evenings”.
Not saying she’s crushing the comp, but can definitely gain an edge.
@ichbinGisele There’s going to need to be a way to incentivise people to create content.
Otherwise stuff either doesn’t get created, or just lives behind a paywall.
