ITR refund doesn’t.

If a taxpayer files the return late, there are penalties.

If a taxpayer delays paying taxes, there is interest.

But when the Government has to return your own money, there is no fixed timeline.

Funny, isn’t it?

Fairness should work both ways.

My first morning trade today, Tatva Chintan, delivered superb intraday returns and even closed at the Upper Circuit (UC); when a stock yields such returns right at the start of the day, my confidence gets a real boost.

Such a time wasting task to try and upload the ITR at the peak time .

Time taken in peak days is 5 times at the normal days due to the portal issues which makes our efficiency lower.

The government has decided not to extend the deadlines. The reason is that, even if the dates are pushed further, there is no guarantee that the portal will function without glitches.

@IncomeTaxIndia should strictly scrutinize ITR claiming refund by false info about Mediclaim, 80C, donations & even some are claiming fake disability to reducing tax liability.

Department should also penalise those (un)professionals helping them.
