We’re in Jinja District with partners to assess immunization program performance and identify solutions that expand equitable access to vaccines. Stronger health systems start with stakeholder engagement. #EPI#HealthEquity
"I knew immunization was important, but with three small children and an eight-mile walk to the health facility, the journey felt impossible." Rachel
Distance was her barrier. Community outreach became her solution. That's what immunization equity looks like. #ImmunizationEquity

BACHI’s partnership powers change
Every child deserves to live near water without fear.
At Bwondha Primary School, our peer learning session did exactly that, turning knowledge into confidence. We did not just teach kids to avoid water; we equipped them to understand it, respect it, and know exactly what to do when danger strikes, wherever it happens.
Because water safety isn’t a one-time lesson for the riverside. It’s a mindset for everyday life at home, at school, at the borehole, in the bathroom.
Our vision is simple: a generation of young people who can navigate life around water bodies with confidence, not fear. Who see a friend in trouble and know how to act, not panic.
Drowning Prevention Week continues.

As part of the ongoing CBO Training, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) partnering in the Drowning Prevention Campaign underwent an intensive financial management training facilitated by the Finance Team. The session covered critical areas, including financial regulatory frameworks, donor agreements and rules, financial compliance, budgeting and budget tracking, procurement and receipt of goods, ethics, conflicts of interest, and fraud prevention.
This training equips CBOs with the financial literacy and accountability tools needed to manage donor resources responsibly, ensuring every shilling invested translates into life-saving action.
With a clear understanding of financial policies, budget monitoring, and compliance standards, CBOs are better positioned to plan, track, and report on activities that directly support the campaign’s core objectives, from community sensitization and swimming safety education to equipping first responders and reducing preventable drowning incidents.
By strengthening financial governance at the grassroots level, this training empowers CBOs to operate transparently, build donor trust, and sustain the impact of the Drowning Prevention Campaign long after individual projects end.

Ian Buwembo from Baitambogwe Community Health Initiative, Mayuge, took participants through the activities his organisation will be carrying out in support of the drowning prevention project. These include raising awareness, recruitment, and mobilisation, alongside promoting water safety practices, structured survival swimming training, and strengthening the distribution of water safety information within communities.
Following the presentation, Mark, Head of Communications & Advocacy, shared feedback to sharpen the initiative's approach. He encouraged a clearer definition of recruitment and mobilisation targets, ensuring communities understand who is being reached and why.
Mark further stressed the importance of monitoring engagement across the different activities, ensuring resources are allocated where they will drive the most impact, and building feedback loops with communities to continuously improve the initiative's reach and effectiveness.
