Atiku wants petrol subsidy back.
Let's say N400 per litre
Market price is about N1,300. That is a N900 gap.
NMDPRA puts consumption at roughly 50 million litres a day.
50m x N900 = N45 billion. Per day.
N1.37 trillion a month.
N16.4 trillion a year.
Now hold that against what Oyedele announced this week. N15.8 trillion mobilised for the Federation across 31 months of subsidy removal.
Everything the country has gotten since June 2023 would be gone in 11 and a half months.
Not the first term. The first year.
And that assumes demand stays at 50 million litres, which it will not. At N400 with Cotonou and Maradi still at market price, the trucks find the border sharp.😉
Budget for 65 million litres and you are at N21 trillion.
This also means taking 2/3 of the current governors allocation. Governors go gree keh?😄
Restoring subsidy at N400 means the Federation writing an actual cheque to a private refiner for the N900 difference. Roughly N45 billion a day. N1.37 trillion a month. (Because NNPC is not doing DSDP again)
We have run this film before in the power sector. It was called NBET, and the arrears are still on somebody's balance sheet.
What would you do with N16.4 trillion a year instead?
Abeg no insults me oo, I be Elderstateman for my village. Toh🙄

@el_bonga On the question posted,
The opinion that says “you must complete the prayer with the Imam even after your ablution is nullified” is a very weak opinion.
It is only permissible to remain in the masjid if you genuinely cannot exit due to overcrowding. Even in that case, you may remain seated in the masjid, but you must not continue with the prayer.
The newly appointed Muftil 'Amm, Shaykh Saaleh al-Fawzaanul Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him upon righteousness, was asked:
“If a person is praying in the front rows and breaks his ablution during the prayer, but cannot leave because there are many rows in front of him, should he continue praying silently, bowing, prostrating and standing without recitation? Or should he sit until the prayer ends, even if he is in the middle of a row?”
He answered by saying, what is prescribed for the one whose ablution is broken during prayer is to leave. The Prophet (PBUH) says: “He should not leave unless he hears a sound or notices a smell.” (Al-Bukhaari 1/43).
This hadith shows that the one who is certain his wudoo’ is broken must leave and should not remain in the prayer.
If leaving is genuinely difficult due to many rows, it is still not permissible to continue praying. If you are able to leave, then leave, this is what the evidence indicates. If you cannot leave, then sit in your place until you get an opportunity to exit.
And Allah knows best.

The prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam told us that whoever prays Fajr with the congregation and sits afterwards remembering Allah tilt he sun rises and then offers 2 rakah, he will be rewarded with a complete hajj and Umrah
