Spannend, was gerade im argentinischen Transplantationswesen passiert – und IOTA ist DABEI 🫁🇦🇷

Argentiniens staatliche Transplantationsbehörde INCUCAI führte nämlich mit der Resolution 199/2026 im Juni elektronische Signaturen für Prozesse im nationalen Transplantationssystem SINTRA ein.

IOTA fungiert dabei als Trust-Layer:
INCUCAI und 24 regionale Behörden sind bereits mit verifizierbaren Identitäten auf dem IOTA-Mainnet abgebildet.

Hashes bzw. kryptografische Nachweise von Dokumenten werden auf @iota notarisiert, sensible Patientendaten selbst bleiben offchain.

Der Rollout startet bei Herz- und Lungen-Wartelisten und soll auf weitere Prozesse ausgeweitet werden.

Im Kern geht es um das zu lösende Problem:
Wie weiß System A, dass Organisation B wirklich Organisation B ist und dass ein Dokument tatsächlich von ihr stammt?

Gerade bei Organspenden ein ziemlich wichtiger Blockchain-Anwendungsfall.

⚠️Validator status update ⚠️

As some community members have noticed, we have been in maintenance for a while now. This was due to a code bug that could lead to problems when onboarding the validators. Unfortunately, this bug hit us and we made the decision to remove the staking pool and the validator from the network.

Unfortunately, we still had far too few delegated stakes by then, so we could have avoided this issue. After careful consideration and due to the fact that we had very little stake until then and were not active, we have reset our validator and pool after consultation with the @iota Foundation. This also means that we now have a new validator address.

Instead of building a machine aimed at extracting value from retail investors, we were operating as a regulated German non profit foundation working to advance enterprise / government adoption and bring it all onchain. We never played the short-term game, we are here for the endgame of mainstream adoption where these networks host trillions of dollars in value. That's a big difference.

We have absolutely had our fair share of mistakes, public drama, infighting and bad decisions. I was part of that and I own up to those mistakes. We have learned a lot from failing and repeatedly getting punched in the face. But unlike many of these other projects, we kept on going, we corrected all those mistakes and we pushed forward to make sure that IOTA will succeed.

When things got tough for IOTA, we kept on fighting. That is the difference. We have had to make difficult decisions to adapt ourselves to the changing market. Operating in 2024 is very different from 2017. But we are better positioned than ever thanks to these difficult decisions we've made, and pushing forward with our unique adoption cases. IOTA Rebased is the latest one, and I'm happy to see that you like it.

To answer your specific points:
- About centralization. Have you looked at most of the projects around us today, who are effectively either full custodial L2s, multisigs with kill switch, centralized sequencers etc. IOTA was never as centralized as those projects, and has never put user funds at risk - quite the opposite. Now with Rebased, this concern of yours will be fully removed.
- IOTA was the only project (next to Bitcoin really) that has distributed 100% of the token supply to the community in our ICO in 2015 (we only raised $500k back then btw). We have effectively operated for 8 years from donations by the community. I think you should applaud us for that, and not attack us. We could have relaunched IOTA with new brand and token and raised $100m+ from VCs (like most in this space would have done). Instead we decided together with the community to double down on IOTA and finish what we started. The 30% ecosystem fund is there to ensure that we realize the vision of IOTA, and it is nothing compared to the 50 - 80% that is kept by insiders with most of the new projects.

What I found most sad about some of your attacks Eric is that you haven't attacked the worst scammers, grifters, ponzi schemes and value-extracting projects in this space like you have attacked us. You know good well how many of these projects operate. We have been continuously building for 10+ years, working on real adoption and helping to advance and legitimize this space.

Brother, It is time that you update your view on IOTA in 2024 / 2025. You should be part of this comeback story of IOTA.
