Honouring Sacrifice: The Meaning of Remembrance Day and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier............. READ 👇🔥
Each year, Nigeria marks Armed Forces Remembrance Day to honour the courage, sacrifice, and enduring service of the men and women who defended the nation’s sovereignty.
Many at the ultimate cost of their lives. From peacekeeping missions to counter-insurgency operations and the defence of democratic stability, personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces have stood as the nation’s shield, often in silence and far from recognition.
Remembrance Day is therefore not only a ceremonial observance, but a solemn national pause to acknowledge lives given in service, families left behind, and freedoms preserved through sacrifice.
At the heart of this remembrance stands the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a powerful national symbol dedicated to fallen heroes whose names may be unknown, but whose sacrifice is eternal.
The tomb represents every soldier who died in defence of Nigeria without public acclaim or personal memorial.
It embodies collective gratitude, unity, and national memory, reminding citizens that the peace they enjoy is built on unseen bravery.
As Nigeria prepares to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the tomb calls on all Nigerians to remember, to honour, and to uphold the values of service, duty, and national unity.

Meet Nathaniel Samuel, a Nigerian
Christian underwear bomber who was caught attempting to bomb a church in Kaduna State !!!
He initially disguised his name as Muhammad in an attempt to frame Muslims !!!
Had he not been caught, his crime would have been automatically attributed to Muslims !!!
This highlights the ongoing injustice of deliberately painting Muslims and Islam in a negative light globally !!!
Igbo Muslim marriage…. Though I don't like it but because of ndi (those) there's no Igbo Muslims, I decided to show this one 😊. They're plenty, just that most Igbo Muslim parents don't allow their children on social media bcos of the negative aspect it. Every single person you see on this video is an Igbo and a proud Muslim, Alhamdulillah 🙌.
Dear @AlikoDangote@DangoteGroup,
Kindly be informed that all the @MRSOilNigeria filling stations in Lokoja are selling at N830/ltr. They refused to display prize on their display panels outside the station but when you drive in, you discover they sell at N830.
They will also harrass you when you try to take pictures.
This is totally wrong and should be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Why a goat costs ₦7 million plus.
Most of us think of goats as affordable livestock for meat or milk. But this isn't just any goat. This is a top-tier stud animal from one of the world's most sought-after meat goat breeds: the Kalahari Red.
Let me break it down for you.
The Kalahari Red (often called Kalahari goat) originated in South Africa, selectively bred from indigenous lop-eared goats in the harsh Kalahari Desert region. These goats are renowned for:
Hardiness: Exceptional resistance to heat, parasites, diseases, and drought. This makes them perfect for African climates.
Meat Quality: Fast growth, heavy muscling, high carcass yield, and excellent meat-to-bone ratio.
Fertility and Mothering: High twinning rates, strong maternal instincts, and good milk production for kids.
Adaptability: They thrive where other breeds struggle, making them ideal for commercial meat production.
Unlike ordinary local goats, purebred Kalahari Reds represent years of careful genetic selection. Top specimens, like champion bloodlines, command premium prices because their traits are proven and heritable.
Why Stud Animals Are Priced on Genetics, Not Meat Value
In livestock (and even pets like dogs or horses), pricing isn't about slaughter value. It's about breed and genetics.
A regular meat goat might sell for ₦50,000–₦200,000 because it's destined for the market. But a stud buck (breeding male) like this one is an investment in the future of a herd.
This ₦7 million goat won't be slaughtered for meat. Instead, it's used as parent stock to breed high-quality offspring. Those offspring are now the ones that will give birth to the commercial stock that are eventually raised for meat sales.
Think of it like this:
✓ The stud buck sires dozens (or hundreds, with AI) of kids per year.
✓ His superior genetics pass on faster growth, better disease resistance, higher fertility, and more meat yield.
✓ Farmers upgrading local herds with Kalahari Red bloodlines see massive improvements: kids reach market weight quicker, survive better, and fetch higher prices.
₦7 million sounds shocking for a goat at first glance. But in the world of serious livestock breeding, it's not about the animal's meat. It's about the genetic goldmine it represents. If you're in goat farming (or thinking about it), upgrading with quality genetics like this is one of the smartest moves you can make. It's why top breeders worldwide pay big for the best.
You're welcome
Years ago, a Canadian man named Marcel Labrune sold his tech company for over $300 million.
People expected the usual scenario:
A glass mansion by a lake, a white yacht, a Lamborghini of an indescribable color, and a life measured by Instagram photos.
But Marcel Labrune chose a different path… a path no one could have imagined.
He took about $4 million from his own pocket and headed to the city of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada, to build something rare in this world:
A village of dignity, not pity.
He founded a non-profit project called:
12 Neighbours.
The village consists of around 96 to 99 tiny homes, dedicated to people who used to live on the streets or in temporary shelters.
But these houses are not “emergency shelters,” and they are not cold walls meant to silence conscience.
Each home includes:
• A full kitchen
• A comfortable bed
• A private bathroom
• Simple yet elegant furniture
• Heating, water, and internet
• Solar panels on the roof to reduce electricity costs
Most importantly:
The homes are permanent, not temporary.
And the residents are treated not as a social problem, but as neighbors.
Marcel Labrune didn’t stop at housing alone.
In the heart of the village, he built a work and training center that includes:
• A small café
• A silk-screen printing workshop
Today, people who once slept on the streets work there.
They make products sold in the market, earn real wages, regain their sense of worth, and lift their heads with pride once again.
Later, the project received additional government support exceeding $12 million to expand the initiative and ensure its sustainability—but the initial spark didn’t come from a government, an international organization, or a fundraising campaign.
It came from the pocket of one man… with a living conscience.
Marcel Labrune explains his philosophy:
"I don’t want to give them a fish,
nor even teach them to fish…
I want to give them a lake from which they can fish with dignity for the rest of their lives."
In the world, there are many wealthy people—except those whom God protects—who spend millions on:
• A single car that could build a village like this several times over
• A birthday party that lasts one night
• A handbag whose price could treat hundreds of children with cancer
If every billionaire donated just 1% of their wealth to real projects that respect humanity and restore hope,
there would be no homeless person on our streets,
no child forced to leave school to support their family,
and no patient dying because “all the beds are full.”
Marcel Labrune didn’t wait for:
• A government decision
• A UN grant
• Nor media applause
He took the money from his pocket,
and built his little paradise on earth,
before expecting it in heaven.
And indeed, every dollar spent on human dignity
weighs more before God than tons of gold
spent on luxury and showmanship.
The real question isn’t about Marcel Labrune…
The question is about us:
When will we build “12 Neighbours”?
—
A true story.
An existing project.
An idea that embarrasses a world rich in money…
but poor in courage.
@AsakyGRN Dear @OfficialDSSNG and @PoliceNG, please look into this situation. Incidents like this are becoming more frequent. I have already seen two this week. We will save this video as evidence and also upload it to Facebook. It is important to take action before things escalate.
Rascality and making noise is not a defense in court, you can’t be shouting at the Judge, his lawyers are aware of that but he doesn’t want to agree and follow the rules so they left him and now its a life sentence #Politics#IPOB#NnamdiKanu
