We can both list good and bad things caused by “greed.” Then what have we explained? Surprisingly, one thing. Under capitalism what you call greed has been harnessed for good. Socialism could never.

If you’re limiting your creativity so, I could imagine it’s possibly being done in other ways too. Luckily, it is a choice and not something you’re born with.

@DavidDeutschOxf I noticed you corrected from saying someone is “smart” to “they are quick on the up take.” I agree but what makes people, running the same creativity program, vary in effectiveness in solving their problem-situations? Is it their accumulative past solutions?

Particularly the conversation being criticism of two rival theories. The winner is objectively our best theory at the time.

If a culture has sufficiently suppressed these processes then you may be right but even then imperceptible changes will be made. Until we have a deeper understanding of them, it’s safe to say there is room for free will.

@dela3499 @DKedmey I laughed out loud at this. He has an ability to make something funny that, I imagine, neither him or I expected to be funny. I remember a TedTalk where he had the crowd laughing. I’d guess his only intention was to convey an idea not to farm laughs like a comedian.
