@BoBhorowhenua@jackvlloyd What are you even talking about? You're wrong about him being misrepresented, and I've just made an argument pursuant to that point. I'm not interested in your ideobabble.
@BoBhorowhenua@jackvlloyd Really? Why? His theory is "more easily applied to a totalitarian state than is a classical economic theory within a highly free economy." Since his theory plainly does not work in a free economy, and the classical theory generally does, this implies my prior conclusion.
That's because most of this was done by the Republic, and *that* state had a *massive* cultural impact on the world for the next two millennia. The US is modeled, in part, explicitly off of the Roman system. We even directly stole the name of their legislature for our Senate.
It's funny how at one point the Roman Empire stretched from Northern England to the Persian Gulf yet had such little cultural impact on the world afterwards
@BoBhorowhenua@jackvlloyd Sure, if you are tasked with controlling the economy of a totalitarian state, which Keynes himself admitted in his introduction to the German edition of his General Theory - for a Germany held under Nazi boot.
@newmakkiki@Tomoejp1236 No, but neither am I hiding the dishes in odd places and expecting the waiters to seek them out. You wouldn't need nearly as many janitors if you just threw away the trash for the food you've already been holding, instead of making them go on a scavenger hunt for refuse.
@newmakkiki@KHqGhF1njP87081@Tomoejp1236 What are you even talking about, infectious diseases? They're not picking up drug needles. The only things a janitor *should* have to do is sweep dirt, mop spills and empty trash cans - those things which the attendees have very little control over. Littering is anti-social.
@Jason_from_nyc@ConceptualJames You addressed nothing I wrote. The fact that you think you did, shows you to be delusional and/or incapable of effectively comprehending what you read.
@Jason_from_nyc@ConceptualJames He was never going to annex Canada, that's just a delusion you have. He also actually did implement 100% tariffs against China, and the threat to leave NATO is still there, its enaction contingent upon their cooperation - as it always was.
@baelzebub@nazenazekankoku Terribly unfortunate, indeed. Not the least aspect of which being half the population that was imprisoned by communism, due to a certain American general's incompetence. I would not call the half that was saved meaningless, however.
@KHqGhF1njP87081@newmakkiki@Tomoejp1236 My side? I wasn't aware there were sides. Cleaning up after yourself is an obvious virtue. If there are any Americans defending littering because of this garbage reasoning of "let the janitor work," link them to me so I can tear them apart.
@BoBhorowhenua@jackvlloyd Turning the government into the "wealthy" does not solve poverty, and it does not increase GDP, it only enables economic tyranny, and then starvation thereby.
Keynes was a fraud.
@jackvlloyd Aye, you can only do so by incentivising the successful to be the best, most virtuous people they can be. The poor and the rich are not "class enemies" but rather integral parts of a greater whole. One does not benefit via theft from the other.
@newmakkiki@Tomoejp1236 If their job only exists because of another's failure, that doesn't justify that person's continued failing. Useless jobs should not exist, and that person could be much more productive doing something more meaningful than cleaning up after adult children.
