Disagree intensely. Centralized networks funded by very deep pockets will always have the ability to outbid decentralized networks for centralized hardware. By example just one player, Google, is worth the entire market cap of crypto. Where decentralization can be applied extremely profitably is in ensuring the quality of the inference.
