Friends, in just two days, Christians were murdered on two continents.

On Friday, gunmen opened fire on a funeral at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Karak, Jordan, and killed nine people. On Saturday, armed men attacked Orthodox churches and homes in Oromia, Ethiopia, and killed more than forty.

These are not statistics. They are our brothers and sisters, members of the mystical Body of Christ. When Saul set out to destroy the Church, the risen Jesus asked him, “Why are you persecuting me?” The Lord is still being persecuted in these victims of anti-Christian violence.

Christianity is by far the most persecuted religion in the world today. Those of us who worship in comfort have to ask what the deaths of these martyrs demand of us. At the very least, they demand that we pray for them, learn their names, press our leaders to act, and refuse to look away.

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.

في شمال قطاع غزة وجنوبه ووسطه: جيش الدفاع يقضي على أربعة مخربين من حركتي حماس والجهاد الإسلامي الإرهابيتين

⭕️في عدة غارات شنّها جيش الدفاع أمس (الأحد) في شمال قطاع غزة وجنوبه ووسطه، تم القضاء على ثلاثة مخربين من الجناح العسكري لحركتي حماس والجهاد الإسلامي الإرهابيتين، وهم:

🔻علاء أبو زايد - مخرب في الجناح العسكري لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي الإرهابية.
🔻حمدان سليمان إبراهيم أبو عمرة - مخرب في الجناح العسكري لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي الإرهابية.
🔻فوزي سالم السواركة - مخرب مختص بالقنص في الجناح العسكري لحركة حماس الإرهابية، عمل على الترويج لمخططات قنص ضد قوات جيش الدفاع.

⭕️وفي غارة أخرى شنّها جيش الدفاع في شمال قطاع غزة خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع (السبت)، تم القضاء على المخرب محمد عنان محمد الرواغ، قائد خلية في وحدة النخبة التابعة للجناح العسكري لحركة حماس الإرهابية.

⭕️خلال الحرب، ولا سيما في الفترة الأخيرة، عمل المخربون على الترويج لمخططات إرهابية ضد قوات جيش الدفاع ومواطني دولة إسرائيل، وعلى إعادة بناء القدرات العسكرية للتنظيم، في خرق ممنهج لوقف إطلاق النار. وتم القضاء على المخربين من الجو لإزالة التهديد.

⭕️بالإضافة إلى ذلك، رصد جيش الدفاع أمس (الأحد) في شمال قطاع غزة مبنى عسكريًا استُخدم كموقع قنص ضد قواتنا. وفور رصده، هاجم جيش الدفاع المبنى ودمّره لإزالة التهديد.

⭕️قوات جيش الدفاع التابعة لقيادة المنطقة الجنوبية منتشرة في المنطقة وفقًا للاتفاق، وستواصل العمل لإزالة أي تهديد.

At least 47 Orthodox Christians were killed in a late-night attack in Shirka Woreda, in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region, Borkena news reports. Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes around 10:00 PM, blocked the exits, opened fire and set the houses on fire. Local sources told Borkena the attackers included local armed groups and others from the neighboring Bale Zone. Residents asked police to step in, but the outlet reports that officers did not act, saying they had no official orders. Families are now burying their dead among the ashes of their homes. Let us pray for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia.
