109 years wasted when we could have acted to avoid climate collapse but instead fossil fuel companies lied and fueled the problem and our politicians repeatedly failed to do what is needed.
We still have a window to avert disaster but it gets shorter by the day. #ActOnClimate
@jasonmauck1 My assumption (no research on my part) is that mycelium fruits at the outer edge of the organism and the area in the center of the ring is where the fungi have colonized.
Staff members Scott Brainard appeared on @WPR's @wprmornings today to discuss new funding for improving the cultivation of nut, fruit and #treecrops in the Midwest to make them market viable for #climateresilience. #agroforestry

A confirmed tornado is on the ground near O'Hare airport! This tornado has been touching the ground intermittently so far and is moving east. There are additional circulations along the line south of O'Hare. Seek shelter if in the warned area!
I wish our sewage sludge wasn't contaminated with chemicals, because it's so valuable. But mixing all the waste streams, plus the pervasive presence of #PFAS in so many products, makes its use risky and threatens our soils and waterways and aquifers. How can this be remediated?
The state stresses the nutrient value in sewage sludge while dangerously downplaying its toxicity and threat to human health, the environmental group said in a report. https://t.co/uM1q92ztx4

The desire to avoid any mandated changes has now led certain organizations representing some farmers to force removal of the phrase "Nutrient reduction strategy" in state regulations designed to reduce nutrient loss. Shaking my head!
"..The primary objective of the nutrient strategy was not to clean up the water. The primary objective of the nutrient strategy was to convince EPA not to regulate nutrient pollution in the Mississippi River basin like they do in the Chesapeake Bay."

Food security tied to work makes no sense; "The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimated the debt ceiling agreement would put almost 750,000 adults ages 50 to 54 at risk of losing food assistance because they do not meet the SNAP work reporting requirements."
"Folks that are challenged already to make ends meet, putting an additional requirement on SNAP is just going to make it more difficult, bc it's not about just the work requirement. It's getting to work, you have day care needs. How else does that disrupt or affect your life?"
Wow, look at those wave heights being measured by the Wilmette Buoy on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan! Wave heights >10' typically occur with strong storms in the spring and fall, but are incredibly rare during the summertime months. #ILwx#INwx#LakeMichigan
@Rainmaker1973 This is really cool to watch.... In this context. Also explains why a CO2 gas pipeline leak is did extremely dangerous. Carbon capture pipeline breaks can suffocate life and simultaneously stop escape or rescue via fossil fueled vehicles, which depend on oxygen, too.
Smoke from the Quebec wildfires will drift south towards the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, & Northeast the next several days leading to milky/hazy skies and filtered sunshine.

Planning to be on the lakeshore today and tomorrow? Keep a jacket handy as temperatures fall into the upper 50s! Elsewhere, temperatures will gradually fall today and remain “relatively” cool tomorrow. #ILwx#INwx
